Eboue Saturday

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Eboue Saturday

Post by dvbrisgooner1 »

Who were the arseholes that booed Eboue when he came on for Kolo on Saturday?

I absolutelt abhor the booing of Arsenal players by our own supporters. Okay, you don't have to like him, or rate him, but all the time he is wearing an Arsenal shirt he deserves your support.

If you're one of the people that booed an Arsenal player on Saturday, then you seriously need to consider whether you deserve the privilege of buying tickets to see Arsenal Football Club.

That's the exact point Rebel, we can say what we like here as that's what forums or pub conversations are all about. But when we're at the game, we must get behind ALL the players, whether they are good enough or not. Christ, I'd have spent my entire childhood booing otherwise!!

i been to a few games where i heard booing ht v liverpool, ft v psv last year, both times and before and after them occasions i was clapping the boys off, however they pla weather its good bad or ugly they should still all be clapped off the park, then 1ce ur in the pub, on the forum let the slagging off commence as it dont affect there confidence as much, only the media *word censored* but they will ignore that just as we do 8)

You should never boo your own players.

Firstly, I couldn't agree more....I could never boo an Arsenal player who is clearly trying his best! and yes, that includes Eboue....many people don't seem to like him, but he does try hard, and his work rate cannot be questioned.

However....playing devil's advocate....

I'm assuming people don't like the booing because it would be heard by Eboue, and that would either hurt his feelings or have an adverse affect on his performance?

well, in that case, what did people think of the Arsenal away fans reaction at old Trafford recently against ManU (I think?)
- when Eboue rounded the keeper and miskicked the ball into the side netting instead of crossing for Ade, a large portion of the Arsenal crowd started chanting "Theo, Theo!"

- that surely would have been heard by Eboue as he pick himself up from the ground having made a mistake.... is that fair?
- is that so different from booing? after all, both are ways of getting a negative opinion across.

Personally I thought it was a little harsh, but an understandable reaction all the same

I had to laugh Tho.
Bendtnar ran over on his warm up. A ripple of applause.
Denilson... An Ovation and cheering.
Eboue... A couple of people clapped.

And I think its terrible.
I dont think he's a good player. But he's a decent bloke, everyone who's met him says he's a complete gent, he deserves our respect if nothing else.

I have often ranted at my TV when Eboue has been his usual crap self, does that count :?

People pay their hard earned to follow the team and if a player as shit as Eboue and Senderos make a cock up why shopuld they not get booed, if he did well he would get cheered, but he doesn't :!:

Get off that high horse and accept that it is part of the game

Wrong. It's because of his work rate that I don't like him. I think he is a lazy twat. But I have never and will never boo an Arsenal player.

I dont think you should boo a player/team when they come on. Each game is diffrent and you have to help motavative the player for what they are about to do.

However if a player should play shit then i see nothing wrong with critisim. It lets the players know that they have let you, the paying fans, down and that next time they should have a jolly good go at it.

Eboue

Post by kentgooner »

Hands up i booed Eboue during his warm up before the game and when he came on as a sub! Why? Because he's a lazy dirty useless cheating *word censored* that isn't fit to wear the shirt!! I've never booed a player before and hopefully never will again after Mr Wenger ships him off with silly Senderos. Now be honest with yourself people if he played for any other team you'd hate him!
One thing that sticks in my mind is our second goal away to milan, remember how theo ran down the wing and managed to stay on his feet to square it for ade barn door??? Now what would of Eboue done? The same?? Or roll around like he's been shot by a sniper demanding a red card humm..... the latter i think. The bloke is a *word censored* in my eyes and everyone around me thinks the same i'd happily have my season ticket price doubled than see him in the team.

It is wrong to boo him I agree!

However if the resentment towards the player is this high (and nobody on the earth hates this *word censored* more than me) it may be a strange blessing in disguise that the fans feelings are now known!
