I haven't noticed him wearing them before but a lot of players - Bale being one - wear that support strapping regularly or all the time.augie wrote:The thing about avoiding ramsey's injury is particularly relevant when you consider that he was wearing the hamstring support shorts under his proper shorts (as seen when he went to the ground holding his hamstring btw) - clearly he had an issue before the game or he wouldn't have worn those hamstring shorts, so why was he not rested for this fixture ? Re: Injuries
The recent figures that I mentioned were that we have the shortest and lightest squad in the Premier League, not merely the shortest.DB10GOONER wrote: Quartz - miles off with the height thing. Absolute myth. It's about build and muscle mass, not height. What height are the two most injury prone players that have ever played for Arsenal; RVJC and Diaby? 6 foot and 6'4" respectively. Hardly FrankSav or OneBardEwok size now are they?![]()
But look at RVJC and Diaby's skinny little legs and you will begin to see the problem.
I agree with your point about muscle mass, a player such as Wiltord was 5'8' or 5'9" but stocky and tough and seldom injured.
It is an important and interesting subject, especially your point about short term muscle gain versus long term post career pain.
I suggest that you write up your post into an article, and get it published on the main section of the Forum, that way it will register on the newsnow.co.uk Arsenal page plus in the print version of The Gooner.

Re: Injuries
I suspect most supporters think their team suffers more than anyone else. Does anybody actually have statistics on total days lost to injury?
Also, our stats with and without Diaby might be of interest.

Re: Scum at home
They're actually compression shorts. They keep the hammy and thigh muscles compressed and warm which helps reduce injuries to the muscles. They also cut down on excessive muscle vibration which apparently can lead to getting fatigued faster. Another thing they do is increase your confidence that the muscle will hold up and you then don't tend to "carry" that muscle as much or worry about it as much.
And to be fair, there is no expert in world football that knows as much about injuries as this short arsed perma crippled jackeen

Re: Scum at home
Its interesting (To me at any rate
) that the last two times that Rambo has gone off the boil hes developped an injury a few weeks later- suggests to me that hes probably been carrying the injury for several weeks before it really takes him out.
Would have thought that would be spotted by the medical team, but probably not

Shame you can't get compression shorts for your big old bald head. Might stop your brain evaporating out the top of it!
