That is the sad Thing it is never ok to pick one Player out of the entire squad and blame 'it' on him.
The question to ask is what does Wenger and the Arsenal squad expect from him, meaning which kind of Play?
-Goal scoring
-Wing player
-Playmaker
etc, etc. ???
When Arsenal bought him from Real Madrid Özil was playing in a world class squad, with Ronaldo as one of the best wing players, so Özils Job was to deliver the passes to him, also he scored from time to time. I don't see a game plan from Wenger with this kind of player, sorry I can not blame it only on Özil. Also forget the price tag, I mean look at Di Maria, players from Real Madrid cost ridicolous amount of Money because the came from Madrid, it is not Özils fault that Arsenal bought him for that amout of Money. Like I wrote that before, I do belive that Özil needs to be the central offensive middfield player with at least a strong defensive middfield player behind him.

I was one of arshavin's biggest critics, I nearly hated him because people would excuse him from contributing to the collective team effort.
However in hindsight I can see it was not totally his fault. Some players don't have the energy to work a flank. Cover a defender then have enough energy to pick the right pass or score a goal at the other end.
It's clear Ozil can't play the left flank well, we surely have enough evidence of that now. Then why continue to play him there. I'm not a scout so I don't watch players as much as our a managers but surely he would have known a players weaknesses.
I guess with Arsene it's ideology over everything. We've had the 'socialist' pay structure, now we have all my top players must play. Which means we get a 4-1-4-1 formation which hinders our attacking players and leaves us horribly exposed.
The specific problem with Ozil as a I see it, is he doesn't like a fight, whatever form it is. Just gives up in frustration. I'm guessing life was easier in Madrid when he had superior team mates, but surely he came here to have more of a influence on the team.

Don't you feel Abou should be given the no.10 role ?
Doesn't matter whether he sells him or not, i honestly think Wenker can no longer manage big stars with proven pedigree. We seen it with Arshavin, Podolski, Ozil and it's heading the same way with Sanchez. If he inherited the Madrid squad he'd have Bale back playing left back and Ronaldo on the bench.
We could piss 2nd spot this season, had we a decent manager in charge and not the current fucking idiot.
I have given up on us already this season, because what is the fucking point when every man and his dog could make a better fist of it the fucking Wenker.

I wouldn't call Podolski a big star. Not in the same league as those two any way.
