THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I know that many of you don't read the Arsenal blogs, but I am detecting a massive shift in what people are thinking about Wenger. Even some of the fence sitting blogs are now expressing serious reservations about tactics and how once again we stunk out another transfer window. Some are hoping that he leaves at the end of the year.

Could it be? Could the tide really be turning? It's a slow burner for now, but by Christmas this year if we are sitting somewhere south of 6th, I think that people will be angrier than shite.

Last time I looked, Southampton had a new manager this season, were 3rd in premier league , have a plus 13 goal difference and.... Beat Arsene's great squad in the "milk cup " at the Emirates

We live in hope for hope ....

Funny that you should say that but on sunday and Monday's arseblog I detected a slight (and I stress the word SLIGHT) hint of a change towards le cock :o I actually wondered at the time, whether it was a deliberate change in policy - ie his "contacts" within the club have started to distance themselves from wenker and arseblog is following suit :rubchin: Of course I could be way off the mark on this, but arseblog has continually look for excuses for our failings rather than the real reason behind them, and many of us have maintained that his close working relationship with the club has influenced his content, so it looks odd when he starts blaming the manager but defending the club as if he is trying to maintain that relationship with the club post wenker

I have spent the last few years hating and mocking (but still reading  ) most of what arseblog says and I cant remember a time when he has called out wenker on issues like I feel he has since Saturday. IF his connections inside the club have influenced his blog in any way (as many of us suspect), then to slate wenker at all would be a risky move to make if maintaining a relationship with the club is important to him - of course if he feels/is led to believe that le cock is losing the support of those within the club, then it would be easier for him to be critical without fear of reprisal 8)

Anyway to answer your question, my wife has always said that knowing that the wheel is round isn't enough for me cos I need to know why it is round - tbh it is something which pisses her off, and that in itself pleases me somewhat

My apologies ! The state of general attitude and support for Wenger leaves me to miss sarcasm !
I hope we have hope soon...

Wonder what the chances are of Koeman being our next manager with DB10 as his assistant 8)

Must say that Saints have the most impressive scouting and nurturing set up that there is. Puts us to shame though less so than some of the PL teams.
