Burnley at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Gunnersaurus wrote:Sanchez was clearly the difference against two (what I felt were) evenly matched teams, that says all I want to say about it right now as I'm just happy for 3 points and had another decent day over there.

Chamberlain looked like he should in the second half where he looked to penetrate, other than that I don't really want to talk about anyone else apart from Sanchez off course.

Good to see Theo back.

You sure ? Apart from the ox and wally, is there any other player you would like to mention AFTER saying that's all you want to say ?

No one wants to say it but we are a one man team like we were with RVP 3 years ago like the Spuds with Bale and the Victims with Suarez. And we all know what happened to those three.Sanchez wont hang around to finish 4th every year

Funny you should mention it... in fact I said exactly that to my boy at half time.

This really is a major problem for us. They offer very little going forward and are far from solid defensively. This, even more than CB, is the area needing strengthening in January.

Burnley are probably the worst side in the league and when they actually played 5 or 10 minutes of football we were all at sea. Granted the team as a whole lacks defensive cohesion when we're put under a bit of pressure but those two in particular are completely appalling at this level.

Thought the first half was as expected, we were the better team aided by them in their Lancashire homes, (anyone else get really bored by that song) being frightened of us. Predictably there didn't seem to be any idea of how to break them down and in the second half they had a bit of a go and at 60 to 65 minutes I honestly thought we would go one behind. They were playing better than us at that point, a team on the bottom, I hate that feeling.
Still we won in the end and anyone watching MOTD will think we were all over them, the BBC made us look like title challengers.
Flamini-------Arteta

Very weak area

PLEASE STOP SLIDING ON YOUR KNEES...look at the example of PV4 in 1997-98..such a celebration against Man U put him out for a while with a knee injury. We are more than capable of getting injured without doing this.

Didn't the great Dennis Bergkamp injure himself sliding on his knee's after grabbing our 3rd goal v the scum at highbury many moons ago ? It was the one where wrighty twisted their left full into a dizzy haze before crossing the ball to the back post for the great Dutchman to clinically finish them off :barscarf:

Jumping celebrations don't ensure safety either.
