After claiminghe would rather commit suicide than concede the title, I see that he has now conceded the title

I think he may actually just be mental

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger's tactics under scrutiny from members of coaching staff following defeat at Swansea

Could this really be true?

Finally someone in our setup actually has the balls to question Wenger's approach (the perpetrators will be sacked imminently and tried for treason).

"Reservations over Arsène Wenger’s defensive tactics held by former players and pundits are shared by members of his Arsenal staff...Steve Bould, Wenger’s assistant, takes a particular interest in the defence, but other backroom figures were left dismayed by the Frenchman’s approach at the Liberty Stadium".

"Wenger will be given £20 million in the January transfer window to try to shore up Arsenal’s defence, but there remains regret that he did not do so in the summer...Arsenal will hold a scouting meeting this week to discuss targets and start to assemble a list of who exactly they will bid for".

ha ! you bugger you beat me to it !

this is fantastic news - it means the torygraph has declared open season on wonga :

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger's tactics under scrutiny from members of coaching staff following defeat at Swansea

Reservations over defensive tactics held by former players and pundits are shared by members of the Arsenal manager's coaching staff
that is fecking awesome - in a day or two the other rags will have 'insider exclusives" with current players and staff...

this is great news.

as is this :

Merson has vowed not to back down in his row with Wenger after his old boss questioned his managerial record and the validity of the 46-year-old’s views.

Of his brief managerial career at Walsall, Merson said: “I wasn’t a great manager. But I don’t remember drawing a game after being 3-0 up – and I never had a team full of internationals.

“I think it is childish he [Wenger] has had a dig at me. Not interested in Paul Merson? He was begging me to stay when he offered me a new contract [in 1997].

"I respect Arsène Wenger, he’s a brilliant manager. When he first came here he was far ahead of his time. But times change.

"It’s my job to give an honest opinion. I was at Arsenal 14 years and I say these things because I care – I’m not backing down.”
take that you froggy twat - i've always loved the Merse. :barscarf:

IN MERSE WE TRUST 8)

Could this really be the beginning of the end?

Albeit only early, the media are tightening the screw. Even if it amounts to nothing, it's good that he's being held accountable and is aware that people are finally voicing their disillusion with his managerial performances.

another hit piece from the Mirror :

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/ ... ls-4605225

basically saying that Merse maybe a thicko but he's right.
Yet you don’t have to be Einstein to understand Arsenal’s shortcomings. You merely have to be Merson. That is how glaring and long-standing these problems are.

also look at the Poll at the bottom - "Should Arsene Wenger Step Aside ? " - 76% YES....

time running out for Wenger :

http://www.theweek.co.uk/football/premi ... for-wenger
The truth, which many Arsenal fans refuse to accept, is that Wenger can buy as many players as he wants in the transfer market but it won't make any difference. The club's problems don't rest with the squad, but with the manager, a man who is past his prime, and yet lashes out at anyone prepared to challenge his authority
if thats not very clear..... :rubchin:

The pathetic nature of our support will mean, any positive result will lead to claims that everyone is overreacting about Wenger, and that he deserves time to get it right, and should be judged in may. There will be fans celebrating like we have won the league, if we get top four in May :banghead:

While it is nice to finally see some critical media coverage of Mons. Clueless, as long as he retains the confidence of Wiggy, which he undoubtedly does, he will remain in charge.

I will rim Nigel Farage if Wenger isn't in charge in the summer.

Also, can you imagine Kroenke and his ilk trying to appoint Wenger's successor? That will be a painful comedy.
