THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

wow thats pretty damning of Wenger.

keep the defeats coming and the abuse will only get worse.
sad it has come to this but the faster the fall, the quicker this is over with.

we just have to hope that we keep losing match after match - the upcoming fixtures offer this possibility

Gunner Rob wrote:there is a reasonable chance that we could lose 5 out of our next 6 fixtures

Man Utd - Home
Dortmund - Home
WBA - Away
Southampton - Home
Stoke - Away
Galatasaray - Away

think we will get a result at WBA.
the thing about these fixtures is that we could well lose 3 at home in a row - things will get very interesting then
I called this a few weeks ago.
this is a golden opportunity to really stick the knife in.
and if these fixtures dont do it then I am sure a loss in the relegation six pointer at Anfield later in the month will.

Got text from my brother who is Germany on holiday (his son lives there) He says Fact; Rodgers will get the sack soon and Klopp will be the next manager at Anfield.
That would truly worry me tbh. Klopp could turn the mousers around. :|

Not only are the media rumours growing - that the victims owners have actually sounded out Klopp, but ex-players who are in the know that Rogers has been given 3 games or else and IF he does fail then Klopp will take over and as you say if he does and we remain entrenched in abject failure with wenker - then next season could be even worse - with the likes of the spudscum finishing above us and we in their shadow.  :cussing:

That Usmanov statement is absolutely brilliant.
Look I've said this before and will say it again: Usmanov is NOT pro-Wenker. He's an opportunist.
Believe me if he was at Arsenal, Wenker would have been sacked years ago. You think the richest man in Russia is going to allow himself to be pissed on by Roman? Behave!
Usmanov just says what will curry favour with fans at the time. His public rebuke of Wenker is the first time he's ever openly slated him and that's because it reflects the mood at the club. What's genius about his comments are that they put pressure on the WWW (wig-wearing w**ker). Rome is burning and the WWW is taking a dump, reading OK magazine.
Has WWW made a single statement against Wenker? Each time the pressure has been on he's backed him in public - but he can't really do that now after what Usmanov has said.

The only real concern for Usmanov must be the potential worry of an Arsenal fan group staging yet another anti-Usmanov cult March through the streets of islington? Imagine how heart-broken Usmanov will be to see grown men with white sheets daubed "sod off Jabba"?

If Kroenke has ANY sense he will immediately get on the blower to Red Action and remind them what that country singer once said:
STAND BY YOUR MAN

Out of interest I looked into Facebook to official Arsenal, Arseblog and Arsenal FanTV updates and especially comments sections. Pro Wenger comments are mainly gone and there were a lot of those comments like a month ago. It's mainly Wenger out comments now...

Usmanov: "We need to strengthen every single position to play on the level of such teams in UK as Chelsea and Manchester City"

The average Arsenal fan: "We are only 2-3 players away from greatness"

Hmmm....:rubchin:

Chesney: keeper is shite. A disgraceful state of affairs that he was offered a new deal on £80k a week when his previous experience was being decent at Brentford. Arrogant muppet with no pedigree. Compare to Courtois who's already won a league title and domestic cup, and is rumoured to be on the same wages (after his new deal)
Gibbs is a pathetic defender.
Mertesacker the "World cup winner" (that wasn't picked for any of the knockout games from QF onwards)
Kos is decent but you still have to ask why Deschamps keeps selecting Sakho ahead of him? (Varane is obv far superior to Kos)
Debuchy jury still out
Arteta LMAO. Look at Matic, then look at this joke
Ramsey. Lost the plot and reverted to shite. Pity.
Cazorla: Wenker turned down Cesc for this? What does he do? Defensively nowt. Hardly scores. Doesn't assist. Pointless.
Wilshere. Potential but shocking ratty attitude, STILL doesn't know when to release a ball. Doesn't score.
Giroud: a second choice at best at a Chelski/Citeh
Welbeck: the English Dirk Kuyt. "Works hard", "runs around a lot" but not expected to score goals in big games. As a striker. Says it all.
Theo: 8 years after he's signed and neutrals would still call him above average.
Ozil: top quality player, being mismanaged
Sanchez: Outstanding quality and heart. A shining light in an sea of shite

I won't even bother evaluating Flamini as it's clearly a joke that he is still in the top division let alone Arsenal.

I agree that Usmanov needs to publicly come out and slam this mediocrity. I still think there is no possibility of any change unless the crowd turn on him , if one does then maybe loads will join in. I still think we are in the minority t obe honest with you.

still silence from the supporters groups - absolutely pathetic

they are as out of touch as the Arsenal board members - Red Action on their website are trying to encourage an atmosphere on Wednesday. Meanwhile on the Arsenal website you can buy a ticket for Wednesday in just about every block in the ground. (no doubt there will be BVB supporters everywhere, like there was last season)
