As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They are shite, we are shite, and the game will be a big pile of steaming shite.

Gunner Rob wrote:a staggering number of tickets available on ticket exchange for this game - you can basically pretty much buy a ticket in any block in the ground. this will be the first CL group stage night I have missed for about 3 years but after seeing those 3 goals being scored right in front of me in the last CL game I really can't face it tomorrow.
be interesting what the "real" attendance is tomorrow as opposed to tickets sold.
it will be interesting to see if that is still the case in January.
and although the club already has the ticket money, they are going to lose out on food n drink, matchday magazines (spit), and at the wengerstore. that will hurt them.
Extremely regretfully hoping for us to lose this game. It's not a decision I take lightly and watching Arsenal once or twice a week is something that I have derived pleasure for as long as I can remember, but we just have such a sorry state of affairs in front of us that I can honestly derive no enjoyment whatsoever anymore.
Scrape into the knock-outs and get destroyed by a decent team. In a way that would make Wanker look more of a *word censored* than going out in the group stage because he would write that off as some sort of 'accident.'
i feel the same way - my first game was April 1978, Bristol City at home, 4-1. i've never wanted us to lose since then will nor i tomorrow but if we do i'll accept it as to get rid of wenger and his culture is more important long term.
the more i read the message boards today and the many many articles that say he's finished , i really don't think he can survive this year - we are worse than last year, and i see further humiliations away at the top five and stumbles against lower teams in the league and cup too.
every major tabloid (except the mirror) and broadsheet are against him, most of the pundits are, a few of the ex players are on the edge, away fans are taking the piss, and you have to think the players know this - both in our dressing room and the England, Germany, Spain's etc as do their agents.
he needs a stunning turnaround to pull this one out - injured players to come back and new ones to slot in perfectly, and some big results home and away. given his tactical weakness i just don't see it.
i am genuinely sad for him, it was nice to see him smiling again at Wembley - but he took that as a mandate that his methods were working and they very much weren't.
1987-2004 was an incredible journey, but it ended and all of us have to move on .

How far would he need to go for a turnaround (in his eyes) though?
Fair enough Dortmund are top of the group, but Anderlecht and Galatasaray are crap and we were dogshit in the first tie. So if we can win tomorrow then we go to WBA, who are meh, scrape a 1/2-0. Southampton will be tough but I watched them against Villa and they looked quite like us, lots of neat passing but not much incisiveness. Then Stoke, which should be three points before Galatasaray. If we've drawn against Dortmund then we won't need to do anything, if we've won then he'll put out the first team and batter them and we'll still finish 2nd. He'll have 5 wins, or 4 and a draw in succession and then Wenger can witter on about a great fightback and fantastic mental strength.
We might even be back in the top 4 before we get humiliated by Alan f'king Pardew!

those wins will not happen though
this team is simply not good enough
tonight we will have MARTINEZ in goal, MONREAL as centre back and SANOGO as the lone striker...
it would be funny if it wasnt so tragic

You watched them against Villa, I bet that is more than our manager done.
I feel right now confidence is at rock bottom, despite all the hot air from the AKB players.
Firstly Kos needs to be in the back 4, or there is no way we will keep them to 0.
If he is playing an early goal should settle us, if Nacho is alongside Per an early 5 goals should just about see us through.
Come on Dortmund!!!! Come on Baggies!!!!!!!! Come on Saints!!!!!!!!! Momentum is building, this season is already a fucking shambles, so for the greater good I hope we get tanked from now til Xmas, the end really could be nigh for the old fucker.
But it will take bad results, protests, social media campaigns and whatever else is deemed necessary, I don't give a fuck how unpalatable as long as the means justify the ends.
I can't think of a better xmas present, than this old fuckers demise from the club.
