Played well last night, nice to see them not go mental and try to score a third but get men behind the ball and hold the lead, Dortmund didn't look great but they are still top of the group so the job still had to be done.

Chamberlain was great again and the rest looked ok for once.

As much as I want Wenger out I can't be pissed off that we won otherwise might aswel stop bothering with football all together.

Bigger win for Wenger than the team, a little bit of the heat has gone away and a decent run will make everything rosey again.

Strange game. Dortmund weren't in it - they obviously have bigger fish to fry. We played well in places, looked vulnerable in others. So, a mixed bag, but a good win.

Sanchez is too good for us. If Wenger has even one functioning brain cell left he will break the bank and build a team around Sanchez. Can you imagine what a top manager could do with a proper system, some tactical know-how and players like Sanchez, Ozil, Ox, Podolski, Debooshy, Cambers? Even Giroud and Welbeck - if used properly? Imagine what type of team you could build around them with a few top notch signings and with everyone playing in their proper and best positions? Nice, huh? Sexy. Yeah. But we'll never know, not under Arsene.

Ox and Gibbs were very good and even Caz put in a decent shift. Merteslacker is still a gigantic cowardly bitch though. The sooner Kos gets back to babysit the big pussy the better.

Thought Arteta was superb, did everything right, positioning bang on, tracking good. Mostly sensible passing out of defense. But you can see his legs are gone and he now often gets caught for pace. But last night, until the injury, he was like the Arteta of 2 and 3 seasons ago when he was our most consistent performer. Captain Stupid then came on and waved his arms about and yelled alot and got dragged all over the place again. The difference in brains and ability between the two is like the difference between filet mignon and dog shit.

Ramsey was again just plain awful. Ran around alot but did fucking nothing right. Over elaborates everything, chooses the difficult option, chooses the wrong pass, insists on using flicks and unnecessary backheels, and tries to hit everything with the outstep. Christ, he's all "look at me! LOOK AT ME!! I'M A SUPERSTAR!!!!" At one point we had them flat square-on and Chambers (or Ox?) made a sweet run down the right into their box, Ramsey only had to slide the ball in early between the two square-on defenders, but what does he do? Checks back, takes two extra touches and then tries to spoon it over the defenders Bergkamp style, totally fucking killing dead a good move. Rambo - you ain't no Bergkamp, mate.

SanoGoals is still shit. A scruffy goal from 3 yards ain't gonna change that. He has an awful first touch, a weak finish, is clumsy, has no idea when or where to run. Useless. Loan him out or get rid. We can't afford for him to learn his trade in our first team. Fucking ridiculous. :x

Podolski will leave. And that is a disgrace. Wenger has taken a fantastic player, a natural finisher and wasted him. People moaning about his "running around" last night? Cop on. He's not a lone striker ffs. Pod is yet another player Wenger is ruining/has ruined by wedging them into a system they are not suited to. I've said it a million times; you use a system that gets the best from the players you have. Horse before cart you fucking idiot. You NEVER try and wedge players into a system they can't play. My 9 year old son's team coach knows this. And he hasn't worked in football for 30 years!!

DB - Great post ^

I'd add on the Podolski thing that as a world class striker, no matter how good an attitude you have as a player and a team member the way he has been treated by Wenger would bring anyone down psychologically, and getting a last 10 mins or so behind Yaya would depress anyone, i genuinely feel for him and i think for the sake of himself he has to submit a transfer request if he hasn't already.

Per looks tired to me, to be honest when Kos is back i'd try resting him against the smaller teams and get Calum in for the experience i think he'd learn and grow massively playing next to Kos.

I am seriously beginning to think that what we saw from Ramsey last season was a flash in the pan, his decision making is atrocious this season, he tries to make everything to elaborate and doesn't seem to understand the simple pass.

Anyway apart from letting Wenger off the hook for a few days pleased with the result last night, not sure if it will continue or not, our team seems to lack on pitch leadership whenever Mikel isn't there, i know his legs have gone but i'd rather he played 60 mins every match that have Flamini on at all, christ i'd rather have Jack at DM than Captain Stupid and that says everything.

Injuries wise it doesn't really matter. Arteta/Flamini have never been good enough to build a side around. Flaminis lost whatever he had and there's around 100 artetas out the there who could do the same job. Let's face it - he was never going to win the league. Everton to arsenal was his only way to step up. Flamini who is niw looking shitter and shitter is likewise - would always have to have great players around him. Still, deserves more respect for his stint at left back.

Wenger's left us with two old guys fighting over the walking stick abd it doesn't look good.

Good summing up DB. The Ramsey one you spoke of was when Chambers was in an acre of room on his right, Ramsey saw him but decided to weigh up his options of a shot first. When the ball went right to Chambers there was cover and a chance was lost. Ramsey believes he has to score /is entitled to score in every game. On Arteta I also thought that he played well against ManUre on Saturday. He picked yup good positions in front of the defence last night , not just as a screen but also as an outlet. The difference with him and Captain Pointsalot will be seen more easily next Saturday at WBA.
I am a massive fan of Pod, like many others the abuse of him by Wenger sickens me. Wenger and his lapdogs will point to Sanogo's goal as some kind of vindication. I have nothing against Sanogo the person, I imagine he is an honest lad who tries hard but how can he be on a football pitch ahead of Podolski ? Obviously Podolski is pissed off and it showed in his body language , but the impression I get is he wants to play for Arsenal but more importantly he wants to play.
I am happy arsenal won last night, I can understand sentiments that the win lessens the pressure on Wenger but put it in perspective , we beat a team who had already qualified and who are in a domestic crisis. We took a small step but the bigger ones will elude us as long as Wenger is manager. His smugness after the game , hinting that the victory and discipline was down to players listening to him at last :banghead: ..

All this result did was throw wenker a lifeline, but it will be back to business as usual over the next few games followed by our annial 16 exit from the clge. BTW I bet the mousers get the weakest of the group winner sin the next round.

Wenger has more lives than a fucking cat. That win last night and qualification means we have at least a few more months of this groundhog day shit

Mate, you've got that until the end of his current contract. :banghead:

I thought we played well last night against a decidedly average Dortmund team. You can see why they are struggling in their domestic league.

My only concern is that having realized where they are in their league, why does everyone seem to think that Klopp would be a suitable replacement for Wenger? I may want Wenger gone but I don't want him replaced with somebody that is battling relegation after spending £300m on his team.

Simeone is my first choice for a reason.. I think that is the one that will change our persona the most for the good. Tactically he'll be a revolution. We won't have to go to Stamford bridge and Old trafford resigned to defeat anymore..

about tonight.., bar the goal sanogo showed all the traits why it's a joke he is playing for us. Couldn't control the ball and didn't perform.

We defended better as a team and that's the way it should be, but I know how much disregard arsene has for defended. We'll continue to be exposed by better sides and our own complacency. Still moments where full backs sprinted up the pitch unnecessarily at 2-0.

Solid performance but I really couldn't be bothered about it. Big fuck you from Wenker to Poldi playing Sanogo ahead of him. Poldi must be laughing at Wenker straight to his face because of this.

I wouldn't put any thought on this game anymore, it really doesn't tell us anything. Dortmund is qualified already, they have lot of injuries etc. I think they took yesterday game a bit lighter. Or they are just as shit as league table shows at the moment...

He's reverted to type from a couple of years ago and it shows, a kind of Lampard without the goals. So desperate to score that the team is suffering as a result.
