Re: THE WENGER THREAD
the money argument never made any sense - look at 2004 to 2010 - every single year we made a profit of around 20 million after transfers.
then look at the 139 million or so wasted in wages alone in that period on diaby, djourou, denilson, bentdner, song, park and the other donkeys who were never ever going to make it, but were given 55-70k a week because wonga was scared to lose them...
and look at it now - 60,000 seater stadia with the highest ticket prices in world football, and we had 100million in the bank in summer of 2013, and 120million in the summer of 2014.
'money' and 'stadium' are just used by AKB's in place of intelligent thought.

talking about lack of intelligent thought :
http://www.arsenal.com/fansforum
with 6 games left in 2014, 30% of the mugs believe we'll only drop 3 points
and a whopping 80% think we'll get more than 10.
i think we get 8 - 2 draws - soton, newcastle and 2 wins - qpr and scousers. we lose at stoke and west ham.
so basically the same form (20 from 39 so far...) but we're playing 3 top half teams.

The talk of the banner in the media and Wenger's defiant reaction combined with John Cross's morning love in will have the AKBs in good voice on weds....I think I will be there to hear this season's first chorus of......
ONE ARSENE WENGER........THERE'S ONLY ONE ARSENE WENGER

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Getting rid of Wenger won't make it a level playing field with Chelsea or City - that's not going to happen as long as Kroenke is in charge because he doesn't want to see the club spending the money required to do that because he won't see a return on his investment.
But Wenger is by now quite obviously complicit in this financial idiocy and it is incredibly damaging because he is legitimising it in the eyes of the thousands of sheep. Any other manager and the fans would be going ballistic about the ownership and governance of the club, but because Wenger is completely on side with the board his hypnotised followers placidly accept it. I don't think for a minute that Kroenke gives a flying fuck about what people think about him but even he wouldn't want highly-publicised, wide-scale protests week in week out.
Aside from that, Wenger is a completely busted flush who has a huge mental and tactical block against the big sides, consistently fails to compete with them, has spunked away hundreds of millions on shit players and still thinks he's doing a great job. A new manager is by no means a guarantee of success but that is a pathetic reason for keeping a failure in charge.

To all those Wenger sheep who keep bleating on claiming he made The Arsenal a massive club, here's the proof that Arsenal were already the greatest English club side of the 20th century, 98 years of which were before he arrived!

I cannot realistically see us challening for titles anytime soon (with or without Wenger). Sorry to be pessimistic but that is the reality.
Maybe the question should be, how can we be expected to leapfrog West Ham and South Coast oil money Southampton?
How did United compete with Chelski despite not having oil money?
If we can't compete then why is our wage bill higher than Chelski?

Let me give you a wee political lesson in ethics. If you're gonna go down that route of "dirty money": you didn't seem to mind "the Arsenal way" when Diamond Danny Fiszman was top
Dog. The cash funnelled by him was funded by the blood diamond trade, a trade that has led to million of African kids having their hands chopped off, limbs dismembered and a conflict in ****** Leone that killed thousands. It's helped warlords fund wars and propped up dictatorships. Peter Hill-Wood was honcho at a financial institution that frequently sold arms to despotic regimes and again, led to thousands of deaths worldwide.
Stan Kroenke is currently married into the Wal-Mart family, the ones currently being investigated for Union busting and going around the minimum wage.
So seriously, give the "dirty money" a rest, it just makes you sound like Red Action.
Let's get one thing straight, Arsenal have not had clean funding for many, many years. So making out taking Usmanov's money is beneath us is plain retarded and factually, wrong. And bloody stupid considering arms dealers and blood diamonds have been an active part of our funding

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
OBG - too late for that sadly, he's going to fall on his sword whether we like it or not.
whilst miracles do happen , i don't see it this year.... worst start in 32 years, 4 home wins out of 11 - against the might of Palace, Besiktas, Burnley and Dortmund.
all those empty seats against united must be making lazy ivans sphincter twitch a bit - thats not a good sign for repeat business is it ?
i just checked, despite what pravda says, there are still tickets available on eticketing for Southampton just two days before the game - thats new isn't it ?
who knows what can happen ? - even Liverpool sacked Dalglish after winning the FA Cup, maybe Santa will bring us a present

Can you prove Danny Fiszman dealt in Blood Diamonds?
What institution regarding Hill-Wood?
Hambros?
An investment bank, not registered as an arms dealer.

Do you need conclusive evidence of the fact that majority of diamonds were actually declared blood diamonds until the UN officially declared that a blood diamond is "one that comes from a region where funds are used to form military governments in opposition to internationally recognised governments".QuartzGooner wrote:Please provide links.Ikechukwu1 wrote: Diamond Danny Fiszman was top

Danny Fiszman's diamonds were hugely sourced from what was known back then as Zaire. The info is freely available. Fiszman's deals were in mainly Zairan, ****** Leonean and Israeli diamonds. People even protested against his Hatton Gardens establishment, look it up on Youtube. The Zairan rebels used diamonds as a source of weapons income to acquire weapons. All of this info is freely available. You asking to prove that a Fiszman dealt in these is like asking to disprove Iraq has WMD. Fatuous at best. He was a diamond dealer mate, and considering over 70% of the world's diamonds are conflict diamonds...

Fiszman was also subject to a lawsuit for his shocking treatment if employees...
http://law.justia.com/cases/federal/dis ... 9/2406684/
The conflict rages on still today in what is now DR Congo
As for the Hambros comment, you do understand the purpose of investment banks do you not? They don't "register" as arms dealers. Yet eg Barclays was involved in a well-publicised arms deal with the Saffas in the 80s. It involves handling money for dodgy arms sales. Do you not remember that Hambros continued to do business with the apartheid regime of South Africa even after sanctions? This is documented. Hambos bank were caught with leaked confidential documents in an attempt to break up Co-op bank. Sir Chips Keswick had to make a public apology and was heavily pressured to resign. Don't take my word for it though, read the book "Chasing Alpha" by Philip Augar. It's on Amazon. Ethics? What ethics.

Again, this is readily available information. Unlike those calling Usmanov money "dirty" without providing any actual evidence...
