Stoke away - travel & pre match pub

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Stoke away - travel & pre match pub

Post by mattyj3nks »

I am travelling by car and parking at the train station as I have in previous seasons.

I have seen on twitter that the student bar is now closed and there are buses taking arsenal fans to the harvester from the station.

So does anyone on here know where they will be drinking?
We went in the terrace opposite the uni a couple of years ago and then got the buses from there.

Was planning to get there about 12 so want to head towards where all other away fans are meeting.

Thanks
Matt

I see on Twitter they're not opening the student bar, so the away fans 'pub' is now a Harvester!

Yeah that's what I was looking at.
I'm not sure how I can get to the harvester if I park near the station.......I guess we could drive straight to the harvester but will be a nightmare to get out after.

I'm getting in about 11, will be doing everything possible to avoid being herded onto a bus to the ground at that time of day. The Harvester there has a capacity of about 12, it'll be like sardines. No chance of getting a drink there.

I'm going by train, getting there before 11. Seems like the choice is either that Harvester or a Holiday Inn. :(

Completely agree. Might have to resort to going undercover in some of the pubs...

There's a pub across the road from the stadium at the Power League complex.

The Harvester......Stoke's most expensive, upmarket restaurant.....although judging by the locals the Salad Bar doesn't seem to get many visits

So if everyone is wanting to avoid the harvester or power league bars where will they be heading?
We will be in colours so not sure where people will be going.

I'm going to try Minsters Bar, which is quite close to the station. Opens at 11 and does food as well. :barscarf:
