There is a difference between abuse and criticism.

I really agree with Herd about the train station incident, it smacked of the type of thing Spurs or Chelsea fans would do.

The existing fans groups?

None of them exist for the purpose of removing Wenger...they all have other agendas.

I needs a new group solely for the purpose of getting in a new manager.

As for the mainstream media, it loves controversy and is not at all shy of ramping up the criticism of Wenger.

One Bard has the right idea, we all have our strengths and should combine them.
Quartz - how many people were involved in this incident at the train station (roughly)? Honestly, we are making the biggest 'non-story' in history headline news. Someone films themselves swearing at a famous person and uploads it to YouTube. Whoopee fucking doo. Its hardly 3,000 people baying for blood is it?
I sometimes get the feeling even that wouldn't work.... :banghead:  :banghead:

You can keep your pathetic "Swear at Wenger" protest, it is not something I would be a part of.

All it takes is one idiot to go too far.
Eh? I haven't even said I'm in favour of it - in fact I've said I don't think its great behaviour at all. My point is this is a tiny handful of people and you are completely over dramatizing it. 3 idiots some Special Brew and a mobile phone does not translate into all Arsenal fans behaving like arseholes. Thought you could argue your points more eloquently than that but obviously touched a nerve. Perhaps you've realised how many pages on here have been given over to the actions of a pissed up minority - you should go round town centres on a Saturday night and write pages in the local papers at how you witnessed three men calling a policeman a tosser and telling him to fuck off

The incident does not need me to publicise it, it is getting media attention.
That is the modern world where any fool with a mobile can film a few seconds of something and it gets international prominence.

The incident is a disgrace and and embarrassment, whether it is three people or 300 people.

My fucking point exactly - which is precisely why it is such a non-story. How on earth are you going to stop it? Its like the blokes who were abusing Nasri on his way to the stadium, or the Liverpool fans who chased him in his car and abused him. SO FUCKING WHAT

Go on YouTube - there are fucking Leeds fans singing "He Shags Who He Wants" about Jimmy Saville, fucking idiots singing songs about Harold Shipman, Hillsborough, Munich you name it. Things that are 1,000,000x times more vile, insulting or abusive than a tiny handful of little warriors telling Joel Campbell to leave while he can, booing the manager, and telling him to get out of the club

Remind what the actual story is again? Oh yeah, young frustrated football fan express how pissed off he is at manager. I never thought I'd live to see the day

Quartz, I cant agree mate, it keeps the pressure on, Wenger doesnt like it- it wasnt just the train station, apparently there were Arsenal fans yelling at him as he walked off at half time.

It all adds to the noise against him.

If the commercialised bubble wasnt there then the whole thing would be different, but it is there, and any noises off of any sort attracting media attention is in my opinion welcome.

SteveO

If there was a proper utilisation of talents as One Bard has suggested it would be a more effective and dignified way to pressure for a new manager.

How do you stop the abuse at Wenger?

If you are there you say something, it might (and has done at some games) lead to a fight but that is the way of the world.

Or you write on here and put forward your point of view.

An old man facing a gauntlet of hate because he is messing up running a football club?

I am opposed to Wenger but I do not hate him.

I am sad that he is a shadow of the manager he once was, like a man in quicksand unable to get out, flailing around for a tree branch or a rope to get him out of his predicament.

i'd be interested to know just how many fans genuinely believe it is likely that Wenger will leave the club, through whatever means, before the end of his contract.

I want him out as much as anyone but as we all know, the facts are he delivers what the board wants and in all liklihood despite the same repeated failings and even very recent media attention I can't help but feel he is going nowhere until his contract expires, as we will still probably claim 4th despite how bad we have been.

I am somewhat confused about this tbh.

Wenger says exactly what he wants to the fans being insulting and condescending, he even does it to certain journalists who upset him but because he does it with eloquence it is acceptable, however fans lash out at him without the same eloquence and it is unacceptable!

Not that I think personal abuse is particularly acceptable in either case but I can understand those fans who probably shelled out upwards of £200 being incredibly pissed off at what was on display overseen by a man earning £140000.

As Steve-O rightly pointed out much much worse things have been hurled at managers before now!

Ronay fancies himself as quite the wordsmith, some of his articles are good, some not so.

The BTL comments on the Guardian have always been home to some of the most ardent Wenger disciples in the known universe though.

Shut up, ingrates. You may question me at the end of groundhog season #251, not before, at which point I will ignore you.

JUDGE HIM IN MAY :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:
The obvious answers:
1. We have you 10 years you prick
2. Arsenal can only win the FA Cup this season. Out the title race in November. You've already performed worse than the season before
3. You spent more money than you ever have in a window and you can't live with Fat Sam or Ronny Koeman

You were judged as a Specialist In Failure years ago. Fuck your patience, and screw your 2027 title.
You expect to be left in peace to pick up your £8m? And people then wonder why fans hurl abuse at this imposter?

You're trying to make it sound like hes a poor pensioner whos just been mugged by shitheads down the high street after spending his last couple quid buying tobacco and rizzlas!
Poor old Wenger eh? Poor old, poor old Wenger. Hes only messing up a football club earning just 8million + a year fs. Nothing to shout about eh? Poor old Wenger. Didnt do anything to deserve this at all.

The first 3 paragraphs of the guardian article made me think that me getting angry towards Wenger was unworthy and i almost felt bad for doing so. Until i read the rest of it.

What a steaming pile of Dogshit.

Wenger has made a mess of things for about six seasons now.

But do people really think he is deliberately trying to lose games?

I think he is a man who badly lost his way, but he is not some sort of fifth columnist trying to ruin the club.
