THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

It really is becoming "EMBARRASSING" - The Chavscum are even showing how to do things Off The Pitch...

No matter what happens now our club will come out of this badly - they either don't sign up and get lambasted by all and sundry, or they sign up now and be labelled as a club that were pushed into committing to it. What happened to our club being the innovators of English football ? We used to be the club that led to way and were a shining example for the rest of the clubs to follow

Blimey havent we got enough to worry or moan about without worrying about living wage shit??? So what if we didn't sign up first or did it as an after thought due to pressure. Arsenal are generally no more innovators than any other club, us supporters just view it with rose tinted glasses every other clubs supporters think of themselves that way too...

Sign up to it or not it doesn't affect things on the pitch and that's all I care about regarding Arsenal

Ramsey is out, with a hamstring injury picked up in what was effectively a dead game.

If Dortmund had lost instead of drawing their game and we had not won the critics would have been out in force, we did our bit by winning.
You can't have it both ways.

FFS - Just when I thought/hoped - Perhaps with that Spectacular Strike against the murderingscum - Just maybe - maybe Ramsey might be re-finding the brilliant form he showed last season - and what do we get instead another damaged player .  :banghead:

You couldn't make this shyte up.

The mind boggles, our players are business assets, so if my business assets were continuously out of comission I'd have serious concerns over the way they were being maintained and used.

Why is it that our board never appear overly concerned over this, you never hear even a whisper of discontent.

We must be paying £100000's per week for assets that are continuously broken.

And if your aunt had balls she would be your uncle

You are embarrassing yourself now.....if we really thought that was a possible scenario, then why didn't we play the full first team ?

He should be strung up by his bollocks for not buying a defender or two. Unforgivable.

Should have gone years ago.

It's not about thinking it was a possible scenario though is it. We knew the likelihood was that we would end up with 2nd place. The probability was at least 90%. So we took a weaker side out there and gambled. You never know what is going to happen with a dramatically changed team using fringe players. It often becomes their opportunity to shine and they excel.
Had we not won and Dortmund had lost AW would have rightly been hung out to dry for the decision.

It was highly unlikely that we would win the group but stranger things have happened in football. The team won the game and kept the competition for top spot alive. Personally I'd rather they did that than have a defeatist attitude and hand it to Dortmund on a plate.

Yeah, they normally get that mindset out of the way during the fourth and fifth group stage games!

This really is starting to feel like the Last Days of Rome now - from The Standard :

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: We don't need to sign anyone in January

“If everybody is fit and available, we don't need to go on the transfer market. But we have to consider that there could be a question mark with Koscielny's fitness and we have to go out on the transfer market.
it seem wenger has drawn a line in the sand - he will succeed his way or not at all. :banghead:

edit - this is from the SAME presser :
"Defensively I have 24 hours to think about [my options] and I will find a solution for tomorrow. We have to play somebody with almost no experience or somebody who is not used to playing in the position."
it beggars belief that he thinks our consistent injury list is somehow going to disappear - we have had on average since August 9/10 players out :banghead:

TBF though if you had attended about the 5 millionth press conference you would be short of making sense, if even you were paid zillions for it. Things are sort of run by the press, no surprise you get drivel really.

He could argue it both ways re Jan transfer window- say you are desperate for a defensive signing and the cost shoots up.

Say you dont need one and the fans get narky.

As this is a shareholder conglomerate then no surpise he picks option 1.

All a load of bo**ocks anyway. If he has a plan we go with it and if he doesnt we keep quiet.
