THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

one of the most depressing things I have ever read from an Arsenal supporter.
what the hell has happened to the club???
Jezzzuss wept - We go from appalling to scandalous - How can this be allowed to even take place - never mind be brought to the public's attention..The Nazi Stewards should - along with the club - be brought to book over this.

The only victory Arsenal are interested in is in their bank balance - fuck the fans - Oooops! I mean customers KERRRRCHINNGGG!

I want My Arsenal Back - But, I know it is GONE.

Utter tripe .Howe walked when they told him his contract wasn't going to be renewed and that they were looking elsewhere for a manager .
Wrong. They didn't tell Howe. It was leaked to the press and he walked. Stories doing the rounds about El Tel weeks before.
And again I ask: would they have done that if he had the backing of the fans? :rubchin:

That is the ultimate, bring this article to the attention of anyone who says Arsenal Fans lack class in their efforts to remove Wenger , Stan and Ivan from our club.. Heaven forbid an Arsenal fan might show passion in Arsenal's home stadium. Heaven forbid an Arsenal fan might ask valid questions on his own safety in an area of the stadium where safety should be a given..

And we were third when he left - under the present ownership he'd have been given a 3 year deal on £8m a year !

Gervinho is having a pop for how he was treated by Wenger. Im all for criticising Wenger, but you haven't a leg to stand on, when this happens

Yeah I saw this. I think anybody who frequents here quite often would agree that I give Wenger a fair share of stick, but it drives me mental when I hear people suggesting he mismanaged Gervinho.

How can that fucking donkey complain Wenger showed him no faith? He got infinitely more playing time than he deserved, in his favoured position, despite us having far better players on the bench every week.

I don't care how he does in that joke tinpot league, he will never make a good PL footballer. He was a winger who was literally scared to try and take on the full-back, however shit they were, despite playing week in week out. The only way he could be more of a spineless *word censored* is to blame it on the manager....

He was also quite simply a dreadful finisher too. Rank awful.

to be fair, he was a winger who was played in the centre against his wishes.

i thought he did okay on the wing, but not a finisher at all.

i think wenger did mismanage him and kill his confidence. i wish him well.

He had skill, but no composure, no finish.

Again againgst City, caused problems with his pace and dribbling but, the end result was wayward shooting. Maybe in Serie A they give him acres of space??

I knew about Gervinho before he came as I watched him for Ivory Coast, I was stunned when we bought him, because he didn't look good enough to play for us (erratic performances). Lo and behold after a good initial period he was awful.

Why did we buy him? if you watched him enough you would have realised he wasn't good enough. oh yeah he was cheap..

Why did we buy Chamakh? if you watched him enough you would have realised he wasn't good enough. oh yeah he was FREE.

Sanogo..free.

Eh? Not sure if people are referring to striker or AMC but he didn't play either role much at all.

In 2011/12 he played 37 games - van Judas played every game that season.
In 2012/13 Giroud played nearly every game.

He was fucking turd on the wing. He actually had a really good turn of pace off the mark, could have skinned full-backs for fun even without any skills in the locker on that alone. But he had zero technique, zero composure and ended up (by nobody's fault but his own) scared to even try and take on full-backs. Without fail he would get the ball and slow to a complete stop, ensuring the entire move ground to a halt.

I honestly rank him as our worst regular attacking player, certainly for a long time.

Hearing that "There's Only One..." is currently being belted out at the bowl, as we pick off the Geordies and firmly assert our intent for the VT. :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Yeah we are stuck in groundhogs day for another three years and lord Wenger will sign on for another few after that. Arsenal FC is dead.
