CL Draw

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Monaco in the last 16
Porto in the quarters
Beat Chelsea in the semi to break the hoodoo of Wenger never beating a Mourinho side so he ends up doing it in a massive fixture.
Beat Madrid in the final in a backs to the wall performance

We can only dream.

There are certain teams we can never beat - Chavski, Bayern, Barca and Real being the main ones......so the dream is a bit like the FA Cup with a Wigan v City type shock that means we don't have to play any of them. Draw any of the above or City and you might as well forget it

I think you've just contradicted your point though Steveo
with a Wigan v City type shock
Well you never know, we could 'shock' someone. Shocks can always happen in football, we could also lose to Monaco. Football is football

Beat Chavs 1-0 at home then lose 6-0 in the away leg.

As usual though, some mixed emotions. On one hand I am delighted that we avoided the real big teams as you never know what can happen when your team gains some confidence. On the other hand it just gives AW another chance to remind the world how strong we are if we reach the last eight!
Exactly and he has previous for this. I remember him trying to convince people that getting to 2 semi finals in 2009 was proof of how good his team were.

This conveniently ignored the route to those 2 semi's which included beating the likes of Plymouth, Cardiff, Burnley and Hull in the FA Cup ... and knockout wins in the CL over Roma (on pens) and Villareal. As soon as we had to play Chelsea at Wembley and then Man United in the CL we all know what happened

I do agree but those type of shocks don't tend to happen in 2 leg ties so I cannot see any winnable ties beyond the QF for us.

progression through the KO stages over two legs requires one thing - GG style defending - close them out away and nick and win 1-0 home or away.

wonga as is usual will try to outscore the best attacks in Europe whilst leaving his backs exposed.

i hope we beat Monaco but i won't be surprised if we don't - our best hope is to win 1-0 at home and lose 2-1 away and go though on the away goals rule.

We leave shocks to other teams - when's the last time we shocked somebody big ?

I have a feeling we'll...wait for it.....win the CL this season.

3 out of BVB, Chavs, Juve, City, Barca and PSG will get knocked out in the next round.

The stars are aligned for us this year so you had better start believing.
