CL Draw

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

i hope they do, i was a fan of Barca's long before they started cherry picking our best players - why anyone would want to play in Madrid, London or Turin is beyond me

as much as i want to believe in 1989 i just don't see it - i don't see any shocks this round and UEFA will 'encourage' a draw where :

Munich v Porto
Real V Juve
Barca v Athletico
PSG v Us.

no way will they let Bayern play Real in the Quarters, nor Barcelona. thats not how UEFA works, they want grand slam semis and the glittering final.

if i remember rightly, they even draw the semis at the quarter final draw right ? - so the sponsors and advertisers know how to spend their Euros, $$$ and Pounds.
Fancy our chances against PSG too, semis here we come.

Surely even Steve O can have a semi over this :rubchin:

Beat Chelsea in the semi to break the hoodoo of Wenger never beating a Mourinho side so he ends up doing it in a massive fixture.
Beat Madrid in the final in a backs to the wall performance

We can only dream.
There are certain teams we can never beat - Chavski, Bayern, Barca and Real being the main ones......so the dream is a bit like the FA Cup with a Wigan v City type shock that means we don't have to play any of them. Draw any of the above or City and you might as well forget it
I'm sure we've beaten these 3 in past CL games ??? I may be wrong cos I'm getting oldish & the memories goin' a bit !! We should do these frogs as well :barscarf: :barscarf:

This is our best chance in years, all we need is a team of tough physically robust players, we'll drilled and tactically set up by a manager at the peak of his abilities and we'll ............oh balls we're doomed aren't we?

Believe!
Final will be played in June though  :barscarf:

In Wengerland, 1989 would still be right about CL glory in May though. To reach the semi-finals in May and get hammered 6-0 would be like a trophy to Arsene and his AKB sheeple... virtually... :|

Gutted I will miss this one , I love that part of the world ,my mother was brought up near Nice (Grasse) and I spent many a summer Holiday in Cannes as a kid !
Better to stay in Nice or Villefranch sur mere as Monaco is heinously expensive, its off season you should get a good deal and there are loads of smaller hotels in Nice that are away from the prom des anglais .
Cabs are a nightmare and expensive too ! But there is a good bus service !

if ever there was a match at which supporters should boycott then it is this one.

approx £80 to watch the FIRST LEG of a 2 leg last 16 match between 2 average at best teams - FUCK OFF

In reality the fact we will probably progress means that people are more likely to buy tickets.
