LONDON MAYOR - GOONERS DECIDE

Post by QuartzGooner »

Who are you voting for and why?

I am undecided at present but it won't be Livingstone...reasonable on public transport but too pompous, too emotional for such an office, had his chance.[/b]

reasonable on public transport? man if your unlucky enough to forget your oyster card or to be a tourist who dosn't know any better you're gonna have to shell out £4 for a single ticket...even if you just want to go 1 stop!!! how is that reasonable?
then (just to crucify livingshit a little more) theres the stealth road tax...whoops i mean 'congestion charge' which is a complete robbery of everyone unfortunate enough to have to go into it, i got a £50 fine once without even realising i went into the shitty zone
now theres stealth road tax number 2...or should i say 'low emisions zone' which only effects lorrys at the moment but i bet they bring it down to vans aswell, effecting busineses and tradesmen that commute from essex to london
and lets not forget he's an anti semite...lol

the mans a complete *word censored*

ps i know you said you didn't like him and not trying to be a twat, the only bit that was aimed at you was the transport bit...i can't see how anyone can see our transport as reasonable

i want english people (and no i dont mean white people i mean ENGLISH people) to be held in higher regard when it comes to housing and stuff too many immigrants come over here and scrounge off of us, if they come over here they should be forced to work or leave (although this is more of a governmental thing than mayor)
people who were born here belong here so if they need help from tax payer money so be it, but immigrants should not be aloud to claim welfare untill they have contributed enough, i have to pay my national insurance incase i lose my job otherwise i wont get no help from my government, why can these lazy *word censored* come over and get everything handed on a silver platter,
austrailia has it brilliantly, you're welcome over so long as you have a trade and a job waiting for you! its not racist to put your own citizens first!

also, scotland needs their own government, why the hell am i paying for some scottish bum to sit down the pub all day then go home and beat his missus? same goes for wales, you want to be your own country then act like it! although the majority of welsh are workers they should be paying their own government

just to add, to anyone whos migrated over here and got a job right away please dont take any offence to my rant,i would hole you in higher reguard than any of the english people who are just too lazy to get a job! im sure you can understand where im coming from (i know everyone who works for my firm feel the same as me, forigners that is...and theres quite a few )

damn that came from no where

ps, just to get back on topic,i will vote for anyone who abolishes the C-charge [/i]

I currently outside of London so won't be voting. If I was, Livingstone has done a very good job but has stagnated, Boris is talented but has been too constrained by his minders to be himself which is worrying so I'll go for Paddick who seems a reasonable choice

I pray the BNP don't get enough votes to get on the London Assembly

Sadly every election I have been entitled to vote in I have had to pick "the best of a bad bunch"....meaning labour. Red Ken will once again be getting my vote.
A lot of things with Ken annoy me a great deal such as trips for him and his staff all around the world, he never admits when he has made a mistake (Lee Jasper affair....and the rest), also the amount of roadwork’s currently going on in west London is a farce (always seems to be plenty of construction jobs that have been a problem for years being completed just before and election).
But for me Ken has been more than productive for London. I disagree with the comments about transport, the underground and bus networks have improved vastly under ken. I use public transport every day and compared to 5 years ago it is much better. This is probably the main reason I will vote for him.
Also Ken has brought to London something that would never have happened to London under the conservative party, a celebration of all cultures. The St Patrick’s Day parade (something Ken introduced) is always a great day out and is brilliant to see so many different nationalities of people coming out to celebrate. Also many local councils have been allowed to stage their own festivals or parades in celebration of culture.
I have to be honest I know very little about Brian Paddick, but from what I've seen of him on recent televised debates he seems to middle ground on all issues (he is a lib dem of course). I’m not sure you can depend on a man/party with little or no experience being in power.
But Boris Johnson I don’t understand how anyone would vote for this bumbling fascist. I would never vote conservative unless they completely changed the party (maybe like the “New Labourâ€

My arse can't be bothered to get down the polling station but I really should as I can't stand Livingstone.

Public transport is in disarray. Is he doing a great job when the cost of my travel card is £34.60 a week, as I work in Kings Cross, each and every train is packed to the rafters, those god damned bendy buses are ridiculous and generally packed out too. After a shower every morinig by the time I've struggled to work on said packed train usually pressed up against another sweaty bloke, I need another wash. I'm not looking foward to the summer at all.

This is a man who brought in Rate 3 for London Taxi's even though most drivers opposed it. Forced up the cost of taxi fare's and sent the custom of decent cabbie's to cowboy firms like Addison Lee and Bob's Cabs. And why is it a cabbie cannot refuse a fair even if they want to go 1 mile down the road, but the Addison Lee's can pick the juciest fare's leaving the cabbie's scraping round for small jobs here and there?

Wanker!

Default goes to Boris.

IF THE CHOICE IS SO POOR THEN THE THING TO DO IS AVOID VOTING FOR ANY OF THEM, NOT VOTE FOR THE THE LEAST UNATTRACTIVE ONE!! OTHERWISE, HOW ELSE WILL THEY EVER GET THE MESSAGE THAT WE'RE NOT HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF CANDIDATE THE PARTIES ARE PUTTING UP?

I dont live in London but if i did i would have a tough choice. Like with the local elections i tend to vote for the best out of the worst (as someone else said). I tend to vote Labour just to keep the tories out.

If there was a none of the above option though, that would definatly get my vote.

Well, I think I might vote. I'll go for Livingstone. Johnson is a Tory and from what I've heard, their "lady" ruined this country. Second, he was born in New York :? And second, would you really trust someone whose name is Boris? Ken, it is for me then 8)
