The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I've said it many times before - unless a player fits in with this 4-5-1 (as that is what it is) there is no point us having them here as There's Only One will try converting them into players that they aren't. When I see us linked with Cavani I have to assume that its bollocks as Giroud has made that role his own under Wenger and he can't play wide. Welback and Sanchez fit the formation because they both work their socks off and will do their share of defensive work - players like Podolski and Cavani can't be accommodated in the system.

As you rightly say though, one of the most lethal finishers around without a doubt and I wish the bloke the best of luck if we do let him go

Given Dortmund's poor season over in Germany, with it very unlikely of them achieving ChampIons League football next season, would a couple of bids for players in positions that would strengthen us ?

Lars Bender ?
Subotic ?
Hummels ?
Gondogen ?
Reus has apparently been a long term target of Wenker.

The fact that they would be cup-tied in the CL is pretty much irrelevant seeing as we have no chance of winning it anyway, and would let us rotate a little.
Dortmund may just need to offload one or two to cut costs and the players themselves may be looking for the magical 4th place trophy :barscarf:

Couldn't agree more. Put it this way I would prefer Pods stay and wenker leave....at least a manager who knew what he was doing could play him in the right position within a better formation - and that would add at least 12 - 15 goals to our seasons total.
Mind you I haven't been in football for 30yrs - no but I have been supportiung The Arsenal for 46yrs...and know more about tactics than wenkercunt ever will!

Still no mention of a quality CDM...which we all know is the position we have needed filled more than any other since Gilberto left.

See you're all wrong, our real weakness is in midfield, where we only have 312 players.

“There is a need there [to enter the market] but the right opportunity has to come up,” Wenger said. “To buy, simply to buy, is not what we want to do but if the right opportunity comes up, we will do it."

If him and his crack team of scouts (working night and day across the whole world) can't find the "right opportunity" internal solutions might be coming :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf:

Need a CDM so bad. I don't know if I've ever seen a club need 1 position so badly for SO long and nothing been done about it.
