Alan Sefton MBE - Arsenal Man Gets Award

Post by QuartzGooner »

Regardless of the team's average form which has us all feeling low or at best ambivalent today, (and for some time), something that can be celebrated is Arsenal's Alan Sefton getting his MBE.

A nice and humble man who has worked very hard for a long time to make positive changes in the local community around the stadiums, installing new pitches and working with local schools to increase literacy.
Also not much publicised but has done work in Israel with Arsenal "Soccer Schools" purposely for all religions trying to increase tolerance between the conflicting communities there.

One of the unsung heroes who gets a well deserved honour.

Yes it is great for the guy and all that BUT, it doesn't half piss me off when I see the official club site running with "headline stories" like this or the one proclaiming how we have the most twitter fans in the world........we mock the scum for listing some unheard of trophies in their role of honour, but it seems like celebrating "successes" like these is as high as our ambitions reach these days

Well done Alan - along with the Groundsman, one of the two Arsenal men likely to get their hands on a 'trophy' this year
