Hull FA Cup
Re: Hull FA Cup
Purely fiscal for me , If I go it will cost me £50 to £60 . for travel plus extras and if I don't I will lose £26. on my ticket . Currently I have lost all enthusiasm to go to matches and certainly not for a nothing match that will incorporate playing anyone that can stand to start on a journey that might make Wembley where no doubt the ticket ballot will say no again . After 58 years of watching The Arsenal I think I have had enough.

I love the FA cup, and am looking forward to the Hull game. A few beers in the junction first.SteveO 35 wrote:Maybe its because I'm an old skooler but I still get excited by the FA Cup 3rd round and I refuse to let the TV companies or any other modern day football snob talk me out of it. An open draw format with none of this seeding nonsense - UEFA could do a lot worse than organise the CL this way. I'd be far more excited by Barcelona having to travel away to some minnows from the Faroe Islands for a one-off knockout at the start of the season with no form or fitness than I would watching them cruise through a six game, three month long group stage with virtual assured qualification. The draw would also be much more exciting when they've got as much chance drawing Real Madrid in the first round as Ludogorets......but it will never happen, as the elite clubs grouped together to get this level of guaranteed earnings from the competition.
The FA Cup is the last remaining proper David v Goliath competition that matters and I will be very sad if it ever completely dies
I remember my 30th birthday like yesterday, was the day Mickey Thomas scored for Wrexham and knocked us out.
There's not a better day in football, when you get to the final and win.

Re: Hull FA Cup
Sort of, although it's mainly the fault of the FA and the Premier League - scheduling New Year's day fixtures two days before 3rd round Saturday would inevitably have this consequence. Could've moved the cup to the next weekend or scrapped New Year's day fixtures.Bradywasking wrote:The FA Cup is destroyed this year, well this round anyway, by TV...how many days is it going on for ? When we get to the Final, We Win - Not by sheer luck AND the manager (called Wenger) Resigns immediately after the game...Now THAT is what I call a Win - Win.

Re: Hull FA Cup
Some of the tie dates are strange but I can't fathom why Everton v West Ham was picked for tv, when Blyth v Birmingham wasn't. Who wants to watch a shit all PL tie?! Even putting our game on tv is a bit crap.
I'd be surprised if Hull being 1k for this game, 17.30 on a Sunday is bloody stupid.

The game is live on Fox Sports here so you should easily be able to find a good stream.
