Re: The January Transfer Rumours Thread
James McCarthy does check all Turnip's boxes - a small, light weight, non tackling injury prone midfielder. Deal's as good as done I'd say

Ridiculous treatment of Podolski. Good luck to him. Fuck off Wenger.

I think he backtracked somewhat, saying that Inter's first offer was "a Joke"; gave himself some room to sell him with a straight face.Bradywasking wrote:So Podolski to Inter wasn't a joke Arsene ?????? Re: The January Transfer Rumours Thread
Wenger something of an expert in making low, joke offers for good players. His coup de grace the 40m + 1 Suarez one.
I'm so pissed off about Podolski, but I really wish him well. He'll score lots of goals for Inter if he stays fit. Also think Wenger is underestimating the morale boost to our feeble-minded squad of having someone relentlessly cheerful like Lukas around the dressing room.

The 29-year-old was expected to arrive in the evening to check Medicine in Italy. "I know him very well, he is world champion, can play in different positions, has a lot of experience and quality," Inter coach Roberto Mancini praised in Twitter chat with fans Podolski. "And the German players have always shown very good performance in Italy."
The 18-time Italian champions, which is in the league only to a disappointing eleventh place wants Podolski use as possible already on Tuesday against champions Juventus.
Earlier, the British newspaper "Daily Telegraph" and had "Gazzetta dello Sport" reported the Gunners could borrow willing to change the world champion within the next few days at Inter. The lending could move at the end of season for five million pounds in a permanent change, told "Daily Telegraph" on Friday. The 29-year-old Podolski came into this season for Arsenal only twelve appearances and scored three goals.
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger had admitted that his club is with the Italians in negotiations for a transfer from Podolski. The first offer called Wenger still a farce. Then we have, however, been a serious proposal. "We'll see what happens," Wenger said after the 0: 2 the Gunners on Thursday at FC Southampton. According to "Gazzetta dello Sport", both clubs had recently approached after the performances were initially located far apart on the transfer fee.
The 121-times capped players who missed the match Arsenal in Southampton with a hamstring injury. Previously, the former Cologne had resisted via Twitter against a media report that he had allegedly left the training ground frustrated by his limited use opportunities and advanced a groin injury as the reason. The ex-Cologne had repeatedly complained in the past to low usage times in London.

but he's only going on loan, so we don't get a decent fee (yet) anyway and now we are yet another player down.officepest wrote:I think he backtracked somewhat, saying that Inter's first offer was "a Joke"; gave himself some room to sell him with a straight face.Bradywasking wrote:So Podolski to Inter wasn't a joke Arsene ?????? I thought the idea of the transfer window was to strengthen your team / squad

I thought the idea of the transfer window was to strengthen your team / squadnot to weaken what has already shown to be insufficient numbers / quality to challenge for the top trophies ( hell we are struggling to make 4th this year)
It is to spend in front of any and all available microphones decrying how unfair it is and how “nobody wants to sell”, before offering £16 quid for a player desperately need and a simultaneous £27m for yet another attacking midfielder we don’t need.
Not forgetting to hawk around Europe your one striker who likes to, y’know, shoot.
