As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Took all the words out of my mouth augie. I too LOVE reminding the Mousers they had to get Slippy G out of CM for that comeback in the CL. Vavavoom, no offense but you sound like a lot of football fans that have bought into the Stevie Meee myth, mate.
He was a good player in his time that verged on greatness but never quite got there. I'd take Lumpolard ahead of him every day. The fact Slippy finishes his career without winning a PL medal is a thing of joy to me and justice for the DJ him and his 5 mates battered like cowardly scousers do, as well as divine retribution for the millions of dives he took.
I imagine SlySports and the Mousers are working on the vigil/minutes silence for next May already.

^^This. He's fucking scum, who throws an elbow or leaves a snide foot in as soon as things don't go his way. That slip was pure poetry, and to see him taking laughable pot shots from every distance for the rest of the match just showed he always wanted it to be just about him.
He wouldn't have looked out of place in an early 90's Wimbledon side with the amount of long ball hoofing he's done in his career.
A while back Clive Tyldesley was commentating on ITV , he referred to Stevie being moved to right back in Istanbul, to which he added "and for half an hour he was the best right back in the world" That sums up it up for me. I have nothing personal against Gerrard, I don't know him but the elevation of him to world class status by the media is and was sickening. At his best he was a good player , a mile behind Keane and Vieira but elevated by a media hungry for an English contemporary of the two.
In Istanbul he was hiding in the first half and was one step above a Flamini in the second. Hamann certainly changed things as did Alonso but to get into the game Rafa had to move him away from the action.
In his defence he did score in finals , in contrast to Henry who didn't score in five finals for us. I wouldn't have him in the top 10 or even 20 Premier League Players. Now prepare for the five month wankathon.
On hearing the news confirmed to day I said to the Mrs, "God help anyone drawn against Liverpool in the FA Cup ".. She said " yeah the FA will do anything to make sure he goes out a winner " Her cynicism made me proud .
Its still on the main Sky News this morning - BORE THE FUCK OFF
On the streets of Syria they are downing weapons and saying "lets call a ceasefire on this terrible day that a bloke who never won the league decided to go to America"
Hopefully the Stoke Three will post some more mobile phone footage soon so we can have a real news story......

And Dida was fucking awful that night too....at fault maybe for 2, if not all the Victims goals,
Just read this on BBC. Jesus wept, if this comes off Wembley will be knee deep in spunk.
Reds midfielder Jordan Henderson says the club should aim to win the FA Cup this season to give Gerrard a fitting send-off.
The 24-year-old told BBC Football Focus: "That'd be nice for him because he deserves something like that for how good he's been over so many years for Liverpool.
"That's what we hope to achieve and it would be brilliant for us as a team and for him personally to get something in his last year." Gerrard's 35th birthday falls on the day of the final at Wembley.

Yawn
He hasn't even left yet but it was THE LEAD FUCKING HEADLINE & STORY on the BBC news the morning after it was announced.
Typical of Slippy Meee to announce it now. Why not wait until May? Oh yeah, the Sky wankathon of his leaving might get lost a bit in the PL run in and the CL final and FA cup final. No no no. Couldn't have that. Doesn't matter to him if he is basically saying "I can't win fuck all here, so I'm off lads" in January. That just must fill his team mates with self belief and confidence, their captain basically saying "fuck you all". This selfish self-centred cuntbag thinks of one thing; himself.
Legend? Fucking Leg end.
My one nightmare is this selfish cuntoid does a Lumpolard and comes back to the PL with the chav$ or Citeh for ten games next season to win that PL medal. I so want this vermin to finish his career having NEVER won that medal.
Good hard working midfielder who scored in big games and got a decent number of goals for a player in his position, able to play at number 10 a bit too.
Let down at times by lack of positional discipline but some players are best in a free role and I think he is one of them.
Not in the top echelon of Premiership era central midfielders (Vieira, Keane, Scholes, Lampard) but just outside it like Essien, others who might join that top group are Yaya Toure, Cesc and Matic depending on how long they play together and what they win.
Gerrard would have walked into any Premiership era title winning squad, but not neccesarily any title winning team.
He would have been a really good bench player for our 1998 and 2002 title winning teams or The Invincibles, but not the first choice starter.
But just compere the attitude of Rodgers by telling Gerrard he is not guaranteed a start and allowing him to leave, to that of Wenger with 'mr 2-games-a-season' Diaby "if he proves his fitness he will get a new contract". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... enger.html
Now ask yourself, who would you rather have turn up for training next week, Gerrard or Diaby?
Its an England thing , once you become or have been England Captain you get away with murder on the pitch and get Hollywood treatment from Fleet street .
Its a trend .
Both Robson and Shearer got very similar treatment !
