I sort of agree with this.

I like Podolski and he should definitely have been used off the bench more than he has this season. But he's simply not fit or hard working enough to play 90 minutes every week and that's pretty unforgivable for one of the highest paid players at the club. For all the good things he has done I can remember plenty of absolute stinkers where he has had zero effect on a game.

:rubchin: Hmmm the thing is:
1. why did Wenger bought him from Köln for a tranfer fee of 12 Million Euros
http://www.transfermarkt.de/lukas-podol ... eler/15185
2. and gave him a contract with 110 K a week
and then
3. let him sit on the bench
:banghead: :?:
I mean looking at the contract time, if you take that amount of Money in your hand to buy a Player why does he not play?
and we are not talking about a 20year young youth player, we are talking about a profen international player with his pro and cons, I think if you buy him for that amount of money you know as a Manager what you get and how to play him, otherwise don't spent the money on him.

Cheers,
Thomas

Podolski didn't start a single PL game this season - hardly a fucking fair crack of the whip is it.....especially when you consider that Postman Bambi was given the nod a couple of times

Exactly Thomas, why buy him, have him in very decent money and not play him - If he didn't fit "the system" - either change the system or buy players who fit it.

Summer before last Arsenal offered Liverpool £40,000,001 for Luis Suarez. Would Luis Suarez have played left wing with responsibility o cover the left back ? Podolski isn't Suarez but only the cannibal and Aguerro could be described as better instinctive finishers than Podolski last season.
Podolski did not get a chance to do what he can do often enough for Arsene's Arsenal and that in my opinion is criminal.

pod is an out and out striker, a 6 yard box specialist. wonga would have had lineker or shearer tracking back :banghead:

the lad was pure class :

the move is effectively permanent btw as he was out of contract in May.

he was quite right to not sign a new one.

I hope our paths cross again.

This isn't his first season at the club, he has been given an extended run in the team before and even his biggest fans must admit he stank the place out on too many occasions.

As for the central striker business, some of his worst games for the club have come on the few occasions he has played through the middle.

Having said that, I agree it's bonkers that Sanogo was ahead of him and he should have stayed as a bench option but for he he has just not done enough over the course of his time at the club to justify his very high wages and no amount of instagram posts or thumbs up pictures can change that.

Then you have to ask yourself why, with all of the questions raised above, he bought him in the first place. Especially as he was no better or worse than he was when he was with Cologne.

For me he hasn't underperformed - just performed to his level.

Wenger must have been seriously surprised that his scouts were apparently so far off the mark.

I'm sorry lads but if you think Pod is lazy on the wing you really don't have much clue about football. HE IS NOT A WINGER. He's a striker. A central striker. Saying he has played on the wing before means fuck all if he is not a winger ffs. Monreal has played as a CH before. Is he a CH? Is he fuck. Do you think DB10 would have had the same impact he had if he had been benched week after week and then thrown out wide for ten minutes every now and then?

Also, saying Pod has had bad games in the centre is totally missing the point. ALL strikers need a run of games. They need to play, they need to hit form. More than any position they feed off confidence and hitting form. They get that by playing. They get that by a good manager building a system around their strengths, feeding them the ball where they like it, not by being sat on the bench, then fucked on in a system that doesn't suit them, and thrown out wide into a position they are not equipped to play. This is basic stuff.

Some people simply amaze me with this bullshit. Basically, Wenger took the hump with him (for whatever fucking reason, God alone knows), then took offence because some pundits called him out on it and thus Pod gets pushed out. That is the type of childish egomaniac we now have as a manager.

The fact Wenger is keeping the average to goodish (but let's be honest, not much more than that) Welbeck and the fucking USELESS Spastic Giraffe SanoGoals ahead of Pod is criminal. :x

Would have been a memorable player for us had he gone back in the Tardis and joined when we played 4-4-2.

Had a gift of finding time and space in a crowded penalty area, then getting off a shot to score when the pressure was on.

Probably would have done well as the central player in our three attacking midfielders but was behind many others in the queue for a starting spot.

Best he leaves for a club that play a system more accommodating to his attributes.

Probably because Wenger openly treated him with contempt and displayed a sickening level of disrespect towards him. Playing Sanogo and Campbell over one of Germany's most prolific goalscorers - good on you for leaving Lukas, keep your integrity.

All the best in the future and I hope you do return one day in some capacity so we fans can say goodbye properly.

Yup... Yet another major transfer blunder by the cluelesscunt - Pods had his flaws but without doubt was our best finisher - It is/was down to Wenger to integrate him into the team - Had he done so we'd have had at least another 20 goals for the season...But that would involve Tactics and team formation and organisation by the useless cluelesscunt Wenger...something he is incapable of.

Good Luck Pods you're better off out of it - Coz we will not win anything else under the inept senilecunt Wenker...

THERE'S ONLY ONE PODOLSKI - ONE PODOLSKI

I just hope the fans sing his name loud and clear tomorrow...

I've watched Podolski's magic feet from the front row seats at the Emirates. Real shame, what was the problem, he's such a class act. Still gutted over Fabregas, can't look at him in the newspaper with that crabby blue shirt on. I'll get over it eventually, I guess. Now I'm beginning to depress myself. Hey ho.
