Nordtveit joins Arsenal from FK Haugesund

Norwegian defender Harvard Nordtveit has signed for Arsenal from FK Haugesund on a long term contract for an undisclosed fee.

Nordtveit (17) has played for his home town club Vats 94 as well as Skjold IL and most recently FK Haugesund, where he made his debut in 2006 against Sogndal and made nine league appearances for the Club during 2007.

Representing Norway in both the recent UEFA Under 19 and Under 17 European Championships, the centre back started every match in the younger age group tournament as well as featuring in two matches for the Under 19s before both sides were eliminated in the Elite round.

Be interesting to see if we do sign another centre back or if Wenger is happy to use this guy as his 4th choice.

t sure about Michael Richards but his brother Micah is pretty useful, although with Sagna supposedly signing we won't be getting Richards.

I heard that Phil was still in hiding as Chelski Drogba said BOO to him last season!

I'm a big fan of Matt Connolly myself and would like to see him as 4th choice.

Djourou is class...if there's a better central defender in the world under 21 I'm yet to see him.

Senderos lacks confidence but I'd like to see him playing week in & week out this season as it's can't be easy for him to hit any kind of form when he doesn't get games reguarly. Send him out on loan this season I say. Actually...send him to the barcodes..anybody would look a great player among the rest of that defence!

:( I really feel for Senderos who it seems will never recover the confidence of the fans after drogbas constant mauling of him. Prior to last season he was hailed as the great new hope and now it appears that we all feel he should be sold although maybe a loan move might be better for us. Djouru on the other hand is highly regarded by gooners everywhere and I for one would be disgusted if wenger sent him out on loan this season. Micah Richards would no doubt be a more preferable signing in that he is versatile, fast, physical and already knows the english game but as citeh now think they are going to be a big club again(as if) they wont let him go. By the way am I the only one that believes that clubs should not be allowed to keep the transfer fees paid confidential(undisclosed) ? In a day and age where questions are being asked about agents cuts & backhanders shouldn't all monies be declared ? Either way I feel it is too easy for a club to hide their transfer cock ups this way - paying over the odds, buying a player and then selling him a year or two later for much less money etc. As fans should we not be aware of how our clubs are financially managed ?
