BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
DB is right on , let me ask you what striker does suit well in our system ,Henry was the only one who could hack playing like we do and you don't get many of those to the decade ,or millennia !
Poldi got lodged by Wenger in his first season and has been festering ever since !
Even if Milan are picking up all of his wages until the end of the contract in july then we only will save abt 2.5 million .
If as is more likely they pay about 60 k a week until may its about Half of that .
So despite only having 1 fit striker in the squad and he's suspended we loan someone out .
Makes abt as much sense as the Jenkinson load and the Ingnasi sale which left us naked at the back.

Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
The fact that we still have Sanogoals in the squad and we let Poldi go is a absolute joke. What might have Poldi been thinking about that and the fact that Sanogoals has actually been ahead of him for a long time. Absolute fucking joke. Poldi has surely done or said something to wenker to get this kind of treatment from him.
Now it seems that Sanogoals is also heading out for a loan deal leaving us with only one fit striker. I don't really give a fuck if Sanogoals is dumped into Thames, but letting two strikers go in a situation like this is madness.

Have to say not surprised as all you have to do is look at wengers recent activity,i think Lukas's shoot on sight way of playing got up le prof's nose as it WORKED!!!! instead of 250 passes before we get to the oppostion 18yd box
.So we have Giroud(whose suspended) who i regard as average and a squad player,Welbeck who needs 10 chances for 1 goal and a french div2 reject....that put the frighteners up our rivals and coupled that with a crap defence we gonna win.....
What can we expect when we have a manager more interested in the financial side, who regards qualifying for the C/L more successful than winning the P/L,tactically retarded,up his own arse but i do expect now that his holy grail 4th place is really under threat some panic buys in January.Good luck Lukas, show the
what could have been.

Madness akin to selling Tv4, loaning Jenkinson out and offing Miquel leaving your team with 6 defenders, 1 who was carrying an injury,1 who was always injured and 2 New boys who would need to settle in.Ed Hunter The Gooner wrote:The fact that we still have Sanogoals in the squad and we let Poldi go is a absolute joke. Strangely enough Wenker is now saying Chambers has hit the wall due to playing too many matches so soon - whose fault could that be dipshit ?

Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
We should never have bought him. I like podolski as a person, but he wasn't a very good football player. He came in a period where we were paying relative peanuts for attackers and look what we hoovered up:StuartL wrote:Tomáš wrote:LDB wrote:I sort of agree with this.donaldo71 wrote:In the modern game you cant carry lazy players.I dont blame Wenger for selling him i blame Wenger for signing him.£110k a week a bad joke.
I like Podolski and he should definitely have been used off the bench more than he has this season. But he's simply not fit or hard working enough to play 90 minutes every week and that's pretty unforgivable for one of the highest paid players at the club. For all the good things he has done I can remember plenty of absolute stinkers where he has had zero effect on a game.Hmmm the thing is:
1. why did Wenger bought him from Köln for a tranfer fee of 12 Million Euros
http://www.transfermarkt.de/lukas-podol ... eler/15185
2. and gave him a contract with 110 K a week
and then
3. let him sit on the bench

I mean looking at the contract time, if you take that amount of Money in your hand to buy a Player why does he not play?
and we are not talking about a 20year young youth player, we are talking about a profen international player with his pro and cons, I think if you buy him for that amount of money you know as a Manager what you get and how to play him, otherwise don't spent the money on him.
Cheers,
Thomas
Exactly Thomas, why buy him, have him in very decent money and not play him - If he didn't fit "the system" - either change the system or buy players who fit it.
12m Giroud - imo the best of the lot. Slow and not clinical, can play as a lone striker.
11m Gervinho, poor flawed player. I could have told you before he came he wasn't good enough.
Free Chamakh, why did we buy him? Again scouting failure.
12m Podolski, good player, but quite limited.
Those look like purchases of Newcastle Utd not Arsenal FC.
Podolski would only have worked with a 2, but with our midfield which is not a great one, if the wingers squeezed inside to help midfield our fullbacks would get roasted.
All in all, poor scouting, poor judgement, players out of position and low standards, a hall mark of Arsene's Arsenal.
Podolski despite my issues with him, was a pro and never moaned and kicked up a fuss (from he outside). Wish him luck at Inter as they try and rebuild slowly.
I don't need to mention Sanogo, the project is a sick joke. We have money now, why then did arsene want to sneak in another project?
Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
yeah Pod was useless, only a german international of 100+ caps, and with a hammer of a left foot, probably more suited to league 1

Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
Because he's a good bloke, clearly widely revered by his team mates - always had a smile and appeared keen even without getting games. Apparently a great club man. Good luck to him - hope he does very well and makes Wenger look like a goose (even more than normal).storrmin571 wrote:Im more annoyed about this transfer than fabregas and nasri. Don't know why.

didn't say that. Sorry to break ranks, but that's just my opinion.markyp wrote:yeah Pod was useless, only a german international of 100+ caps, and with a hammer of a left foot, probably more suited to league 1

Personally, it's not even his lack of tracking back that is the main issue for me. He just looked generally unfit for most of his time here, it doesn't require a footballing sage to spot when a player is blowing out of his arse after 20 minutes on the pitch. Not good enough for one of the highest paid players in our squad.
As I say, I would have kept him to the end of his contract as a bench player but I don't remember quite this level of wankfest over Podolski when he was actually in the team on a regular basis. Just seems to be that since he's a stick to beat Wenger with that he has been elevated to the greatest striker that ever lived.

But don't agree at all. Even when he was getting a run in the team, it was nearly always out of position. Sure, some people will use him as another stick to beat Wenger, I don't really care either way about that, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a quality finisher who has actually scored a decent amount of goals considering he has not been played in his best position and indeed has not had a decent run of games to hit form and match fitness and sharpness.
I also think again you can't judge him on the fact he looked fucked playing out wide. You put any central striker out wide, with very few games under their belt, and ask them to play that role and you will see a striker "blowing out of his arse" every time. Some players are built to play that role, some are not. The fact he is highly paid has nothing to do with it, that doesn't make him suddenly capable of playing a role he is not good at. I'm sure Monreal is highly paid, should we stick him in as a central striker and then be upset he can't play that role?
Wether you like it or not, it comes down to a manager playing the system to the strengths of the players he has rather than trying to wedge those players into a system his ego dictates.
I absolutely maintain that if Wenger had played Pod correctly he would have hit us 20+ PL goals every season.
I can't speak for anyone else but for me this is one of Wenger's worst mistakes.
Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
Yes this will be another stick to beat wenker with (should be an iron bar
), but I think both the akb and the wob will agree that buying a player (in this case podolski) when he doesn't suit your system is utterly ridiculous
We currently have an infinite number of the players who like to play in behind a striker/strikers, and seeing as one can only play centrally at a time, you would have to ask why we have accumulated so many of these type of players
This of course has had the knock on effect of forcing players like podolski, ozil and cazorla to be shafted out to the wings where it doesn't really suit them and where they will not be able to perform to their maximum level
Unlike many of you I have a feeling that the loan departures of podolski and (hopefully) le postman will not leave us short of strikers - we all know that a Top DM and CB should be the priorities for this window, but I have a suspicion that le cock will sign another striker or attacker (pedro springs to mind) along with a cheap centre back
Maybe you could argue that those two departures would necessitate attacking reinforcements but the need for serious strengthening at the back should trump everything else and especially because we wouldn't need another striker if he kept podolski

Good luck to him, been treated disgracefully by Wenker, and anyone who attemts to defend his treatment is a fucking idiot.

Same as that Sid. Hope Lukas rips a few holes in Italian defences. And shows what he can do when played in a role which suits his strengths.goonersid wrote:Good luck to him, been treated disgracefully by Wenker, and anyone who attemts to defend his treatment is a fucking idiot.
Also, I reckon that the guy was a positive influence behind the scenes. In the mode of Ian Wright.
