BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
Played extremely well tonight and almost set up a winner for Inter but Icardi couldn't finish.

Who would have bloody thought that if you show a player he is valued, actually deploy him in his preferred position and have a tactical gameplan then you'll get something back?
Sometimes the ridiculous thought crosses my mind that Wenger is deliberately trying to get sacked. Decisions like these are simply scandalous.
Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
31 goals in 82 appearances (27 as sub) so 55 starts.
If the manager of the decade went to buy somebody with those stats, how much would it cost?
And being played out of position to boot.
But I haven't worked 32 years in football so what the fuck would I know, just keep renewing u idiot. To be fair I do get to see one of the most exciting football teams in Europe

I see he has started his next stint tonight as a bench warmer tonight, we can now sit back and await the torrent of Instagram pics as he sight sees around Milan as he pitch time dwindles.

Sounds like he's killing it. In his central role as well?!

"Shaqiri made limited inroads on his first Serie A start, while Podolski gave the sort of anonymous performance in his preferred centre-forward role that is all too familiar to Arsenal fans before he was replaced by Icardi in the second half."

Inter are fucking tripe though, so we're not comparing like for like.bang goes the 0-0 draw wrote:Sounds like he's killing it. In his central role as well?!

He's gone, his contract won't be renewed so let's just say thanks & bye.

Well that's comprehensive then. Couple weeks in a new, unfamiliar league, no time to get familiar with it yet, or get used to a new system, new style of play, new team mates, new manager, etc. Yep, he's shit.bang goes the 0-0 draw wrote:Sounds like he's killing it. In his central role as well?!

Re: BEST OF LUCK IN MILAN LUKAS
not a told you so (it's far too early for that!).
But he joined a struggling inter team lacking quality, It will take players much better than Pod to get them anywhere near where they want to be. Look at the inter team sheet and tell me how well you know the players. Kinda feel sorry for the Inter and Milan fans oh and Dortmund too, ok not that much!

THE PODOLSKI MYTH
https://www.clubcall.com/arsenal/podols ... 58674.html
Now I know this debate has been had dozens of times but this is going to be the one time I don't blame Wenker for a player being shit. I don't understand the Arsenal fans that rate Podolski as a solution?
I think it's because Giroud is so mediocre that Podolski seems decent. But he's not!
So we can now add inter to the list of big clubs where he's absurdly flopped:
Bayern, flop
Arsenal, flop
Inter, got his chance up front but was lazy in training and showed little desire. Axed from their Europa League squad despite being their star window purchase!
Berti Vogts said it about him etc. he just doesn't have the application, work rate or the movement to ever be a top striker IMO.
I therefore don't understand the clamour for Wenker to play him? I agree it's mad to send him off on loan when you're hardly stocked with world-class options up front etc. but I don't blame Wenker for not playing Podolski. He never made him a worse player - I blame Wenket for spending £12m on him and giving him £100k a week. That's mental.
If Podolski being booted out of Inter so soon after joining them, as well as basically being ignored for the past 3 years in the Germany set-up isn't evidence enough (and by ignored I mean participation in big games)...if that doesn't convince people then fair enough. He wasn't good enough for Arsenal in the first place, is my opinion....

Re: THE PODOLSKI MYTH
Club call????
that's a worse point of reference than my (made up) insider Steve from ITV sport who used to say Sneijder was coming every window

Re: THE PODOLSKI MYTH
Giroud and wellbeck make podolski look like ronaldo (the goofy brazilian one) and if you cant understand why Gooners clamour for his selection, then I suggest that you look at that point as your reference. Maybe he might not have turned out to be the player that many of us (still) feel he could be for us, but because he was never played as part of a front two I guess we will never know. Again it is one of those baffling wenker decisions.....if playing 1 up top was working then I could understand why Podolski never got a chance as a front two striker, but when you have a failing system with only 1 striker and it still doesnt change, then something is very very wrong
Btw, slate podolski's abilities if you feel he deserves it, but dont question his work ethic because no player would earn over 100 caps for germany if they were lazy - of all the countries in the world, germany would probably have a higher emphasis on work-rate and team-work than any other country (and I'm not just talking about sport either)

You mean it's not true, Sneijder isn't and in fact never was coming. ?flash gunner wrote:Club call????that's a worse point of reference than my (made up) insider Steve from ITV sport who used to say Sneijder was coming every window

Re: THE PODOLSKI MYTH
I was very much in the Podolski camp and often used augie's argument about bad/lazy players not getting 100 plus caps for Germany of all countries. I felt he never got fair treatment from Wenger... obviously he got games but he also got goals and his scoring rate could not be questioned..His other "attributes" to the team were lacking like the covering the left full etc, but that was never his strength and in my humble opinion basing an opinion of him solely on that is unfair.augie wrote:Giroud and wellbeck make podolski look like ronaldo (the goofy brazilian one) and if you cant understand why Gooners clamour for his selection, then I suggest that you look at that point as your reference. he was never in that squad - they had one space and they signed him and Shaqiri. Pod is on loan and Shaqiri is a permanent move from Bayern.Ikechukwu1 wrote: Axed from their Europa League squad despite being their star window purchase!
a bit soon to be calling him a flop - 4 games, one goal and two assists. not great, but not bad either.
