Can we sell all our tix.

Post by Gunner Rob »

noticed that there are still loads of tickets available for this (Stoke) (edited by Chippy) game.

I just can't be bothered to buy a ticket at the moment though.
as a red member I find the situation quite refreshing though - the ticket availability now is almost like a throw back to the old days where you didnt have to decide a month in advance whether you wanted to go or not.

I might go to the Leicester game for example next month but I certainly won't be rushing onto the site when they become available (as i have done in recent years) instead I will see whether I fancy going in the week of the game. if they are available then good, if not then tbh I will probably put the money saved to better use.

thats an interesting point Rob - aside from the constant moans and well deserved invective on here, the demand for tickets has plummeted. 2 years ago those villa and stoke tickets would be well gone by now and yet there they sit - now either other silver and red members are NOT going anymore, or the tourist day trippers have decided to spend their yen at the bridge...

this is hurting the club already - advanced ticket sales are interest free money, and i also think that the red members are also less likely to be spending at the pravda shop - which even if 60,000 tickets had been sold for the Hull game, had 4-5,000 (at least) potential customers.

a poor result against stoke and a guaranteed bumholing from City (Aguero is back this w/e) might just see those Villa and Leicester tickets go to *shock horror* General Sale.....

its a 'watch this space' innit ? - i wonder how the touts are faring ?

Just had a look Clock End and most of West lower are sold out but for the rest take yer pick. Are you watching Wiggy? They're here, they're there, there every fucking where, empty seats..... :barscarf:

Is the old argument that "if i don't go my seat will only be picked up by some JCL or tourist" starting to wear thin?

I'm a silver member but have no intention of letting Kroenke continue to take the piss out of me. The 'we're over the worst of the debt' started in 2011 and was backed up by increasing amounts of free cash flow. The debt is minimal...and then we were told, wait for the new commercial deals to kick in and we'll show we really mean business. Well Alexis and Ozil apart that is frankly bollocks and we still have at least 2 areas of the squad (arguably more like 4) that are woefully under invested to the point that we have Calum Chambers playing nearly every game (here, there and everywhere) and young Hector Bellerin making his first start in an away game at Dortmund. Its no better than 2011 when we threw the kids into the lions den at Old Trafford and got royally stuffed in the infamous 'irrelevant' (copyright Red Member) 8-2.

We have been lied to consistently. Our transfer policy is behind that of every elite club in Europe and will remain that way under Mr Average Franchise Owner who will use Arsenal to milk every penny of property and commercial income possible, continually increase ticket prices and price the average man out of the game. That would be bad enough were it not for his £3m intercompany charge, a substandard product and retaining a manager purely for financial reasons.

I only hope that the gaps in the stadium continue. If we don't make the CL then I think you'll see a lot of daytrippers disappear and whilst ManUre, Liverpool, Spuds and Chavski sell out.....I'm not so sure about Leicester, Stoke, Burnley and Hull. Also think the attendances for Europa League games would be interesting - supposedly there's a groundswell of people who want to go but can't get tickets.....but unless they did the £10 League Cup type offering then even at Category C prices I think you could expect a maximum of 40,000 for some games, possibly lower still

i think it is - with increasing numbers of our games on saturday mornings or sunday afternoons, the argument is now more - 40 quid plus food, beer, travel to sit in the cold/rain; or a nice warm pub, roast beef n yorkshire pud and decent pint ?

if its on TV down the pub, why screw up your whole saturday or sunday to watch a crap performance in a crap atmosphere ?

clubs were warned a long time ago that live TV would eventually suck the crowds out of football, for those teams that don't perform well its very true - look at Villa - 10,000 + empty seats every game now. bolton, charlton were the same before they got relegated.

and read these comments from Villa fans after they only filled 25,000 out of 42,000 seats last month - sound familiar ? :

Ryan Lunn: Have had enough. When you celebrate a draw against southampton and your massive upcoming game is the mighty burnley you know you have serious problems.

Kyle Le Fevre: All u have to do is listen to the constant stats and how many records Lambert's broken. Embarrassing.

Andy Pollard: Fans have had enough, clueless chairman who's never there, manager that makes hard work for himself, whole places needs a new start!!

Pete Faulkner: Mirrors the club as a whole! Empty!
substitute lambert for wonga there and its a perfect match.

btw villa has 21,000 ST holders....

we are not there yet but its in the post as the sweaties say.

With the way ticket sales are going in the last couple of seasons, I wouldn't be surprised if the club offer another couple of thousand seats for new season ticket holders in the summer. Gives them the money upfront and means they don't have to fret about whether the seats get sold on a game-by-game basis. There are 40k STHs (?), with the waiting list I'm sure they could find some fans to increase that.

is there an option on the wait list to defer until 2017 ?

i don't see current silver and red members who are avoiding games shelling out in the summer under this management tbh.

Possibly, but if it's the only chance you'll get to get an ST, I'm sure a few would jump at it. I imagine there's a few like me who would get one just to have the opportunity to get away tickets.

Almost all are ticket transfer sales though, Wiggys got his money, just ticket redistribution :x . Theres a lot more than there was last year available.

But even then you have to build up credits, as most aways sell out at around 20+ credits, some less but rare to be zero credits

Theop, i think Leyton is talking the online box office not the ticket exchange. the box office tickets are not yet sold are they ?

i did look at one of the ticket sellers websites - 500 tickets for sale for stoke and 700+ for villa. at our FV prices thats some burn for them if they go mostly unsold....

camelot is crumbling :barscarf:

There aren't very many BO tickets for Stoke, all TX it seems. But with Villa there's a whole block pretty much empty, which Villa have sent back early.

Split this off as we haven't had a debate about ticket sales for a while. I think this might be the season where the famous ST waiting list dies permanently.

Not sure the demand is still there, I put my ticket for Stoke on exchange at 7.15 by 9.00 it was sold. Admittedly it's lower tier but less than two hours tends to say something.

Regarding ticket sales, am I being paranoid or is the Palace away trip taking a long time to confirm? I'm flying over from the states for that, Monaco home and possibly everton. I'm worried about what's going on there. Can't remember how long in advance away tickets go on sale as usually I'm not in the market.

Just wondering, how you see that coming about? I mentioned on a previous thread that a couple of weeks ago I added myself to the list just to see the number and it was 70k. Now I think I'm correct in saying that some ST holders stay on the list even though they have a ticket, so maybe 70k aren't all prospective STHs. Even then I don't see how it would just go away, even with no CL. In fact with no CL the ST prices might become more reasonable (slim chance I know) since Europa League games would all be category C. I firmly believe that if 20k all at once decided not to renew, then others would come in and fill them immediately.
