Does anyone have a clue about this kid?

so he's not as good as Bergkamp, Henry. Giroud or Sanchez?

I couldnt care less what Arsenal followers think, Sanogo has been goood enough to play at Under-21 level for France when thye have a lot of talent

its what happens when billionaire money turns you into one of the richest clubs in the world the fans become spoilt, indulged and complacent
"
I do remember them saying much the same about Chamakh - international footballer, much sought after etc etc

He's got 6 goals in 41 games and I must say I can't remember any of them. Go back on the forum in a couple of months and see if they're still Glad All Over that they've got the Giraffe and the Camel

If the details of Defoe's proposed move to Sunderland are true his agent deserves a medal.

Sad that Arsenal have to "try to keep " an untried 19 year old at the club.

Like every other top club when a young player isn't playing regularly? Please keep criticism to the things worth criticising.

I hear he had real artistry in his game !

That's the thing isn't it - if they're better than above average like Jack - they get a crack at the 1st team early doors - it's a deleicate balance for any club/manager and that's when the loan system can be very useful for both parties....the thing is Campbell has done very well out on loan Galatassary etc and in the WC - and yet wenger (being the clueless, stubborn twat he is) has insisted on playing a dyslexic gyraffe instead...

Interesting article on F365.

Is Wenger Setting Himself Up For A Fall?
That's Matt Stanger's view of Arsenal's transfer window so far, with Arsene Wenger allowing two first team players to leave before bringing in the necessary reinforcements...

Last Updated: 14/01/15 at 10:03 Post Comment

With Arsenal 12 points and four places below their position at this juncture last season, it is clear that Arsene Wenger needs to strengthen this month. But curiously, he has begun the window by allowing two first-team strikers to depart.

The numbers suggest that neither Lukas Podolski or Yaya Sanogo were essential to Arsenal achieving their aims, although both would have undoubtedly come in use as the Gunners continue to challenge on three fronts. Podolski and Sanogo have scored only four goals between them this season, but that is not to say they wouldn't provide a crucial impact at some stage - a point reinforced by the German's decisive strike against Liverpool in last year's FA Cup run.

It is not really about what Podolski or Sanogo could offer on the pitch, though. The problem with selling before you buy, particularly in a window in which there is notoriously little business before the last few days, is that it emits an air of weakness. Arsenal's squad was already short, and now there are two more avoidable holes in a team that has relied heavily on Alexis Sanchez's talent so far.

Wenger's approach is rather like a Rubik's cube. As soon as one piece of the puzzle, Arsenal's attack, looked to be solved, suddenly the manager has moved to decrease their options, leaving his squad no closer to completion. The to-do list for January was supposed to be simple: sign a new centre-back and defensive midfielder. Weakening the strikeforce was never part of the plan, especially when supposed rivals Manchester City are bolstering theirs with a £30m deal for Wilfried Bony.

Wenger has spoken of trying to be creative this month and having "one or two good ideas" about targets, but he has again piled pressure on himself through his decisions. Supporters who rightly expected more incomings than outgoings after a summer of insufficient strengthening will gradually become more vocal in their demands, using Podolski and Sanogo as pin-ups for protest. "We live in a society of total opinion but we live off not what we say but what we do," said Wenger in November. What he has done is weaken a team already crying out for reinforcements.

It leaves him with just over two weeks to embark on a convincing recruitment drive. The worst thing for Arsenal would be to let a golden opportunity to reach the final stages of the Champions League slip through their fingers. But another injury to Olivier Giroud, or Danny Welbeck's goal drought persisting, and that's exactly what might happen against Monaco.

Wenger's recent history in the market suggests that he won't do enough. With regard to how his tenure continues to be perceived, the loss of Podolski and Sanogo at the start of the window is much more significant than either of the pair's performances on the pitch.

Matt Stanger

The F365 article?

Just a bit of prudent balance sheet balancing, and clearing the decks early ahead of the summer.

Afobe's sale and Sanogo's loan cover Bielik's signing.

Podolski was unhappy and we were top heavy in his positions.
