MAN CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great team performance. Loved every second of it. As others have said, special mentions to cazorla, coq, bellerin, and kos. No way cazorla should lose his starting spot in the center to anyone

He'll be milking himself silly into his Arsenal water bottle right now.
Anyone know what he does to be able to afford being forever on the road?
He's probably got a job
A mannequin down the armoury 8)
He's probably paid by the club to be seen at all times in every item of Arsenal merchandise known to man.

Bellerin looks like he could be the RB of the future (and present for that matter) that we need.

Just watched it as live. Utterly shell shocked. As Chippy Jnr said, probably the best we've played in 5 years. is it too late to say I thought this might be a surprise. Citeh can be very unconvincing at times and without Yaya ......

Delighted :-) Was a bit like the old glory days....great going forward, creative but fought like fuck and defended! Wenger hope you have learned finally. Doubt it but whatever, truly made my weekend in such an unexpected way :barscarf: :barscarf:

Good 3pts and all that BUT the thing that impressed me most was the manner of it - it is sooooo long since I seen a gritty backs to the wall victory that I was beginning to think that they had been outlawed. I would love to think that todays template is something that will be used going forward but I seriously doubt that we will see it much (if ever) in the future. Le cock (and his jcl akb) have this impression that playing beautiful football is a priority, but anyone from my era will always yearn for the days when The Arsenal used to grind out results like this on a regular basis 8)

Of course the "internal solutions" comment in the post-match interview pisses me off hugely but then why would the di.ckhead sky interviewer ask whether he needs to buy a proper DM after a performance like that ?  Our problem has always been the wenker uses one off results as a reason not to buy, and then when we get the inevitable poor result just before the transfer window closes, he panics and tries to buy whatever shite has been left on the supermarket shelf   The time to buy is after a game like this so we can build on the momentum of today - I'm not convinced that ramsey can work in the system used today, and a proper DM (a la matic) would be huge for us and would really give the players a big boost 8)

Anyway that is for tomorrow cos today we celebrate a ballsy victory where we looked like a proper team again :barscarf:

the downside of today is that look at the trophies we would have won had wenger done TACTICS before today, makes it even more depressing.interesting comments from Souness about how Merts looked class cos he was at last protected by the midfield in the same way he has been for Germany, goes to show what organsisation and players playing in their right positions with instruction can achieve.wenker only has another 9 years to make up for

I don't rate monreal whatsoever, but I thought he played very well today. Previously mentioned, Coqeulin and Cazorla were fantastic. Not sure about Bellerin being so far upfield at 0-2 up but oh well. Great win.

Very mature performance by the lads today.

Wenger was tactically aware as well

TR7 for Ox was a good move.

Get in 2 established players - CB and a DM and we should be ok for rest of season.Could say get another striker as 2 have left but we have Joel and Wele...

Think barring injuries to Debuchy and Gibbs we started our best side. In all fairness their deputies did very well.

Not sure how Ozil will fit in as, surely Arsole cant take Santi from the #10 role [or can he?] and Ozil is not a wide player. Ox and Alexis defended well today. Ozil wont do that.

Theo... where does he fit in? apart from sub appearance?

Peace

Well well well 8) what a performance and result :barscarf: i thought we would get bumholed as per usual,im so glad to be proved wrong. It was like old style Arsenal like we used to do in the Graham days 8) we drew the sting out of them early doors and defended as a unit  not many teams will go there and do that to citeh 8).

It sounded like (on the wireless) that Coq had a commanding game. Five appearances in a row ??

Well done Quartz Gooner.
You have been championing him, and others, for sometime now.

It's comforting that you've called one right ☺️
