The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The thing with the permit nonsense, is that it's so dodgy it's unreal. The more you pay for a player the more chance you will get him one. It's corrupt. The 20 million is his buy out clause I think, not what they price him as.

I agree with all of what you are saying but, offering 6m is insulting IF he is as good a player as people are saying - if he is NOT as good as people are saying, then why the fcuk would we buy him ? I know that it is not an absolute, but if a player is good enough to play in a team like ours NOW (as opposed to a development project), then they sure as hell should cost more than £10m

Re your suggestion that the permit system is corrupt, I don't think you will find a footie fan anywhere that will contradict you - clubs like ours usually gain preferential treatment (in contrast to the smaller clubs) when if anything it is the smaller clubs that should be allowed more flexibility because these players are more likely to play regularly at a smaller club

Totally get your point Augie. I just really doubt when papers start putting about figures as they are always nearly entirely bollocks. It wouldn't shock me if we've offered this, at all though. I read something about Joel Campbell being used as part of it but again, talk of swap deals etc. are always bollocks.

It's very rarely I ever hear of other teams having problems with getting work permits ,why do we always seem to have problems, we had it with Campbell and Wellington Silva(is he still on our books and if so where the fuck is he).

That's what I don't get. If we agree to transfer a player effectively giving him 'work' why the fuck does he need a permit?

Wellington Boot was a nobody & Campbell played for (then) nobody, so they had to be loaned out. If we present the FA with a strong case; demonstrating that he will be a first-team player, then we won't have any problems.

As long as he has been playing regularly for his previous teams in Europe then we'll get him, even if it means an appeal.

That, plus the obvious brown envelope we will slide over the table at Soho Square.

De Bruyne has not impressed me other than his World Cup game against the U.S. for Belgium, granted I have not seen him since he left Chelsea

The FA doesn't issue the permit it is the government. It is all part of these immigration laws you all want tightening!

I think De Bruyne is an excellent player......but he's a midfield playmaker, just about the LAST position we need to fill so can't believe we'll go for him........oh....hang on though.....
