That's right the bloke can't cut it at Rb so lets chuck him in DM. What on earth is the rationale behind that?clockender1 wrote:i think the 'suddenly' coincides with actually being coached in the position.northbank123 wrote:Despite the apparent consensus that Jenkinson seems to have suddenly transformed into a world class RB at West Ham and the novelty that he can actually cross a ball, I still haven't seen anything to change my view that he'll never cut it for us.
i have seen him play a cpouple of times on TV and the main difference is in his defending. his crossing is better too but not outstanding.
given his workrate, he would make a better DM than arteta or flamini. coq and jenko would be quite good i think in there.

he's better than arteta and flamini, and on our payroll.

Far be it from me to defend either of those but he has never played DM in his life and has hardly shown any stellar qualities at right back to suggest he could transfer there bclockender1 wrote:he's better than arteta and flamini, and on our payroll.

Re: Carl Jenkinson signs....
I wonder what Jenkinson did to Wenger to be frozen out all of a sudden? It makes no sense at all, he got a new contract a year or so ago, yet we fuck him off on loan to West Ham (wasn't there also talk of him going permanently?)... and then sign a player younger than him, with less first team appearances to his name than Jenkinson for a fee upto 16 million?
You can actually see the benefit of what good defensive training has done to Jenkinson, perhaps Mr Knows should start doing some of the same? (or perhaps not...)

Re: Carl Jenkinson signs....
Have seen Jenkinson play for Arsenal several times in the flesh and also on TV before his loan move. He's clearly a big prospect but not currently at a level to start every week for Arsenal.
Excellent move to get him loaned out to a Prem club where he's playing every week and hugely improving. In the meantime Wenger has shown he obviously has faith in Bellarin to step in as second choice right back.
Jenkinson is only 22! Give him a chance! Hopefully he keep his head down and continue to improve. Do Arsenal have the patience to persevere with young players anymore? I hope so it would be great to keep him amongst our British core of players.

Re: Carl Jenkinson signs....
Well if the useless Kyle Naughton is worth 5 million then perhaps Jenkinson is worth 12 million...!!??
