Abou Diaby - Injuries Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Am I reading you correctly clockender....are you advocating him having a testimonial ?

:D That would be wonderful on so many levels.

Edit: I'm sure that steveo will provide the catering.

:barscarf:

In which case Diaby would miss his own benefit game because he'd be fucking crippled again.

which actually would be very appropriate for him.

when diaby had his ankle hurt Calum Chambers was nine years old. Jack Wilshire was playing u-13's.....unless he was injured too

Just did a quick calculation.
Since signing his contract at Real Madrid 18 months ago, Gareth Bale has been paid £23.4m, and played 4672 minutes. Cost per minute on the pitch is just over £5,000.
Since signing his contract extension 3 and a half years ago Diaby has been paid just over £11m, and played approx.1350 minutes, at a cost of £8,088 per minute.

Yet Clueless still maintains 'I have some thinking to do about his contract'.

Yeah! They'd have to adapt the "Walking Football" rules for him to play... :D

Wouldn't be surprised if he packs it in at the end of the season. A career ruined by a wreckless tackle. Shame. :(

I don't take it at face value that that one 'tackle' accounts for all or even most of his injury problems. Wenger has admitted that broadly speaking his muscle fibres are fragile and that his muscle strength is not good enough to play professional football.

It was a nasty injury and maybe it was particularly complex and accounts for most of his subsequent problems. But when the medical evidence is that nobody can actually pinpoint what his problem is, I'm reticent to accept it that it's all down to that tackle.

To be honest it doesn't really make a blind bit of difference. Agree as above that he will probably jack it in.

9 years loyal service - I just hope the club rewards him with a richly deserved testimonial. Poor Abou

THIS ^^

The fucker should be made pay back at least 95% of the (reputed) £30 million he has been gifted over the last near decade. £30million pissed away. And yet, the AKB will tell you we were "financially constrained" and that wasn't Arsene's fault. You could not make this shit up.

Wenker himself should pay it back, after all it was he who renewed Diaby's contract, despite it being obvious to all that he was a fucking cripple.

I believe SteveO's posting has lacked a little bit of sharpness. Overall I believe there is great potential in his posts, but perhaps he is posting with the handbrake on.
