usual thread starter… This one was submitted for the printed issue by bengooner14 from the forum. Title is a nod to an up and coming pop combo in case you were wondering! As I am swimming in pieces for the final edition of the season – and they are all going to date, I’m using some on the website. They’ll actually be read by more people here.

Anyhow, some very good points. We are not mean enough are we? Do you agree? Too lightweight? Too many nice guys?

Where is the next issue out gooner ed, i had a fealing there was one coming out after the reading game but i havn't recieved one. I gather there will be one coming out after the sunderland game instead.

Sadly I do feel that this is all too true. Like you said Flamini has the right attitude but if you saw him in a dark alley you wouldn't be running for your life. I feel if Diaby is drafted into Central Midfield(AS HE SHOULD BE IMO) and toughened up he could be the New Vieira.

We do need to make the squad physically bigger.

Edu, Vieira, Gilberto, Parlour, Pires was a tougher physical midfield bunch than Cesc, Flamini, Hleb, Rosicky and Eboue.

Size alone does not make for a great team though...look at Bolton!

Maybe we can use DJOUROU in midfield to boost the strength, he plays there for reserves and Switzerland sometimes??

DIABY I have said before and have to say again, he is NOT the new Vieira. He has his forward running style, in fact uncannily similar, but unlike Vieira he cannot tackle!
