THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well I agree with Herbert and Laughing and think you're all a bunch of ungrateful wankers. We've spent a whopping £13m already this window on absolute 'super, super, top, amazing' quality in Bielik and Gabriel, beating all of Europe's elite (Real, Bayern, Barca, PSG, Chavski and City) to their signatures. The shackles are off, we've got a wonderful owner with a track record in building first class sports franchises and investing heavily in the squad.

We don't need a defensive midfielder because 7 years after signing him, Coquelin has finally arrived in the big time, all the better after playing a starring role for super quality Charlton and having 2 good games for us

So stop fucking moaning and get behind the money who has bravely led us through this glorious past decade despite having less money to spend than Hartlepool United

sounding a little bitter there Steven, I think Arsenal need another loss soon to start giving your posts even the remotest ounce of credibility. 8)

Putting aside the money argument as I don't think either side will ever be able to say whether enough was available and whether he spent it wisely enough with 100% accuracy I'm actually more concerned with whether with all the years of accepting mediocrity Arsene has allowed himself can he now imbue the team and himself with a wining mentality consistently :rubchin:

Just saddens me that there are such staunch opposing views like this- are there other teams with such a divided fanbase I wonder :|

I am pro Wenger so the graph from the link above just confirms to me that we have the right manager in place
but what about all the outers on here Impressive? or a load of bollox?

Instead of lauding Wenger for that complete load of complete bollocks - maybe you should be asking how many more points we would have got over the last few seasons if the team had shown the desire, energy, determination, organisation, solidity, work-rate etc. (all things that are totally FREE by the way) that we saw at Man City a couple of weeks ago.

Then ask yourself if the man who has neglected those crucial areas of the game for so long is still worthy of being thought of as the right man to have had in place all that time?

So are you suggesting that after putting together a winning streak against a top side that currently stands at one game, a critic of the manager has suddenly lost all credibility? :)

Awww....bless him ! Still out there stalking his Uncle SteveO I see. Thanks for quoting him as well because I don't otherwise get to see his little pearls of wisdom since I put the gag on his posts.

Let him enjoy looking at his Francis Coquelin poster and chasing my posts all over the forum. I might even give him a little bit of signed tissue paper if we ever meet.

Poor old Robin Loser_ I'll let my old mucker Ikechukwu respond in kind to somebody who is evidently another superfan thrilled to bits with our transfer activity this window

actually it was - from 2005 to 2014 AFC PLC has consistenly made a profit according to club accounts - of between 13million and 20 million pounds.

contrary to AKB beliefs, the club borrowed the money to build the stadium and pay less than 10 million a year.

in the same period Arsene wenger spent 126 million on JUST djourou, senderos, bentdner, denilson, diaby, and eboue's wages.

the cost of the stadium was outweighed for FIVE years by JUST the wages of Bentdner, Denilson and Diaby.

any time you want to add to your bull shit argument, please do - but the fact remains that wenger had the cash and blew it on high wages for players that were never ever going to win us titles.
by your facts above you have confirmed that he has had 3 to 10 million a season to spend in the transfer market
bullshit argument :rubchin:
profit is over and above the stadium cost.

plus that time period is biased - in 2003 he was already sitting on the Invincibles. a fairer comparison would be from 2006 to 2015.

it is a shame that the fan base is so divided. the only way to stop that is get rid of wenger. until then some of us will accept the highest ticket prices in world football in return for scraping fourth place, a manager with a second job, horrendous injury lists and boring mundane football, and some of us won't.

Don't even know why you're bothering with these jizz-monkeys Steve. Put it this way: Le Twat has earned over £75m in wages in the past decade. His cumulative wage bill in that period of 10 years is over £1billion
And for this, in all that time, he has won as many major trophies as Portsmouth, Wigan and even the laughable Spuds
That ain't conjecture, it's fact. Still though, let's all ***** into our vintage Wenger-undies and then use the spunk-drops as blu-tac for our Coquelin and Gabriel posters
Arsene "was under financial constraints", but now he isn't...so he goes into a season with just 6 defenders and still ain't bought a quality DCM. But hey, Coq had one good match in 7 years...so new contract please!
Wenger is a Joke, he's achieving what any doddering fool could with the same resources

Apparently you're bitter if you dare to suggest that. Lol - we signed him the same year we let Gilberto, Flamoney and the far superior Diarra all leave together and finally he's had a decent game. Must have been that experience at....wait for it.....Charlton 7 years later that did it

Arsene obviously really does know, and when Coq gets his 60k per week four year deal he'll go on to be the Yaya Toure we never had
