Just a query

Couple of Arsenal stores away from Islington haven't done very well. I was amazed to hear that the one in St Albans was open for less than a year (opened July 2008, closed by February 2009), and I understand the Brent Cross store has now gone under (opened July 2012, closed by September 2014).

Are there any other Arsenal stores apart from the two at the stadium and the one at Finsbury Park? As it stands, I assume St Albans and Brent Cross are the only other ones they have opened in the UK. Given the obvious lack of success at these two outposts (despite, presumably a decent amount of footfall in the shopping areas concerned) did the club do any research on likely custom?

I always thought these stores were initially to be "Pop Up" stores open for a month during school holidays?

I guess they made a profit at first so the club left them open, but as the recession bit harder the club shut them?

Stuff is too expensive I think.....my son paid £60 for a tracksuit top at the game yesterday. Fair play, his cash but way over the top

I can see online that an Enfield branch opened in July 2009

Anyone have any idea when that one closed? It certainly doesn't appear to be trading any longer

Bear in mind they may have been taken on short / temporary leases at advantageous rates.

That said the Brent Cross store (in a very busy shopping centre) appeared to have been fitted out at some expense and opened with quite a fanfare including appearances from the likes of Jack Wilshere.

Apart from those occasions it was mostly empty when I used to pop in with my son.

Don't know of any myself but this reminds me of something that happened a few years back (maybe 5 or 6?).

I was in Lakeside shopping centre and I saw the West Ham shop. As I passed the doors (on the first floor) a guy tried to hand me a promotional leaflet. I refused saying that maybe I'd come back and see him next year when they'd gone down a level. It was just a joke at the time and I was obviously referring to their impending relegation.
The next season I was there again and passed their door. the shop had moved to the ground floor, just at the same time that the club went down one level too. It always makes me smile to think of the ironic coincidence

I remember that DB10 tried to open a shop himself once. The access to it from the back was very secluded which resulted in him being burgled with alarming frequency. Surprisingly he kept it open for years and was reported in the local Dublin press as saying "I love getting my back doors smashed in regularly".
