Okay fellow Gooners - It is time to employ the *word censored* Thread properly. Okay so we all mess about have a bit of banter and *word censored* one another - even Almunia sometimes (steady on Flash!)...BUT...I saw this today on the BBC website and I truly despair of there ever being any kind of resolution between these extremists and those they wish to eradicate from the world - the likes of me and you.
They are beyond *word censored* and cunting...they are Pure Unadulterated Evil Scum.
How can they be so barbaric and yet claim to be doing what they do in the name of their God...I truly am lost for words...that poor man and his family, it makes me want to weep.

Time for the world's leaders to stop the revulsion and replace it with action. I hate violence and war but there are times when it is justified. Time to go in and obliterate them.

The good ol US of A with our world police army actually have the ability to put forces on the ground and fight for an actual legit cause this time, where we wouldnt be considered war mongering and would be backed by most of the modern world. Yet Obama sits on his fucking hands while our Kurdish allies are left to fend for themselves. I mean, seriously. If we, plus a few other nations sent in ground forces we could wipe them out in a month or less. Nah, better just keep pumping billions of $ into military funding so that we can have the biggest and best without using it for good.

On a general and tad simplified level Iraq was a mess because of the Shia / Sunni divide.
Afghanistan initially was hugely successful. The SF teams that went in wiped out an estimated 60,000 - 80,000 AQ and Taliban fighters by calling airstrikes in on them. In the space of about 5 weeks. The problems in Afghanistan developed when the US tried to instill a hearts and minds program and force western style democracy on a culture that is organised (and historically divided) along tribal lines rather than political persuasion.
If the US and her allies went back to the basic strategy of inserting small SF teams and allowing them to call in surgical and, in some cases, non-surgical strikes they would wipe IS out in a couple of months.
