Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I have been away from the forum for a few days, but I see we have a few more AKB'S popping up to praise their lord and master for our glorious form, because we beat City, but none of you were on here posting after the numerous humiliations suffered last season..how odd. The AKB'S are also encouraged by the fact that we beat championship Brighton, and an Aston Villa team breaking records for their lack of goals. Also, was it not the AKB'S saying earlier this season that fans are having knee-jerk reactions to defeats, and we should judge Wenger in May, or does this only apply when we are in a poor run of form? It seems the likes of Laughing gooner, and Robin_L are happy to post when the going is good, hope you lot will be here after the next Wenger fuck up.

But for other people it's not ten years mate cos we've been financially hamstrung for the majority of that. I guess you know that this is the line.markyp wrote:ITS THE TEN YEARS WITHOUT A TITLE THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT ARSENE,ANYBODY WHO SAYS DIFFERANT NEEDS TO TAKE A LONG HARD LOOK AT THEMSELVES
But if you think they look like loonies then you(we) look like loonies to them as well.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
but what about europes elite like Bayern for one who have moved stadium and still managed to clean up,there are plenty more too.weve always had the money that's common knowledge ,wenker just wouldn't spend it,add to that some awful purchases and zero tactical nous on Wenkers part and BINGO theres the problemmarkyp wrote:arseofacrow wrote:But for other people it's not ten years mate cos we've been financially hamstrung for the majority of that. Re: THE WENGER THREAD
I don't think it does a tremendous amount of good to compare us to Bayern and AKBs will lap that up. They have always been a financial powerhouse, able to cherry pick any German talent, are in an unchallengeable position of long-term dominance domestically (as Dortmunds rise and fall showed) and without being arsed to look I imagine there were significant differences in stadium funding, not least because theirs is shared with 1860 Munich.
There's plenty of ways to expose the frailties in the stretched 'financial constraints' argument without resorting to crude comparisons

That's right. Doesn't do any good to make comparisons which arent relevant to us.northbank123 wrote:I don't think it does a tremendous amount of good to compare us to Bayern and AKBs will lap that up. Let's focus on what we could have done. And didn't.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Somehow his tactical legacy this season will be that win at City.
Tactics at Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea every bit as bad as last year.
You'd have to be clinically insane to sit there after 55 mins and still think nothing needed to change.

At least he didn't bring on Flamini. I so wish Wenger had signed Lloris.

the city game was a complete outlier, just like tottenhams 5-3 against chelsea.northbank123 wrote:Somehow his tactical legacy this season will be that win at City.

AKBs conveniently forget that Middlesbrough also turned them over at the Etihad the following week.the playing mantis wrote:the city game was a complete outlier, just like tottenhams 5-3 against chelsea.
And that the mighty Burnley managed a draw there a couple of weeks prior. Fuck, even Sheffield Wednesday nearly won up there.
City are a really poor side, and I wasn't shocked in the slightest that we managed to beat them. That victory is really no indicator of how good our team is; it's merely an indicator that City are fucking awful and in a false position.
