Re: Boro FA cup
i'm going for the same result as the City game - 2-0.
Boro are unbeaten in 12 games, top of championship. Manager is a former spanish CB, was Mourinho's assistant at Real Madrid for three years, and they are still great mates.
I meant 2-0 to Boro btw.
Coq is going to get outnumbered like at the spuds and Per and Kos ( or the new kid, poor sod) are going to get raped.

well, bradford 2013, sunderland in 2012, stoke 2010 etc.northbank123 wrote:It's also the sort of game we haven't ever lost, bar Blackburn.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:they're better than leicester. no reason for us to feel steady about this. this is the sort of game we haven't won in recent years, apart from last season's cup run.
still, a nervy 2-1 is my forecast

Well away games at Sunderland and Stoke especially aren't really the same. I agree that we will labour somewhat in this game, but can't remember us getting turfed out too often at home under WengerHenry Norris 1913 wrote:well, bradford 2013, sunderland in 2012, stoke 2010 etc.northbank123 wrote:It's also the sort of game we haven't ever lost, bar Blackburn.Henry Norris 1913 wrote:they're better than leicester. no reason for us to feel steady about this. this is the sort of game we haven't won in recent years, apart from last season's cup run.

except against quality teams you mean? because i remember barca and bayern specifically destroying us at home. swansea was another who played us off the pitch a couple years ago.northbank123 wrote:Well away games at Sunderland and Stoke especially aren't really the same. done by a woeful united side at home 2-1 is just as bad if not worse.northbank123 wrote:, but can't remember us getting turfed out too often at home under Wenger
everything that Mourinho knows about beating wonga, Karanka now knows.
after the City win, Karanka is putting himself in the shop window in this game - he'll get Boro promoted then bugger off in August you watch, to Liverpool, City or PSG or someone.
a lucky win is the best we can hope for.

I think this goes to a replay. 1-1.

Do you really classify Bayern and Barcelona as "this sort of game"? Or think that I was making such a wide-sweeping statement?Yankee_Gooner_Dandee wrote:except against quality teams you mean? because i remember barca and bayern specifically destroying us at home. swansea was another who played us off the pitch a couple years ago.northbank123 wrote:Well away games at Sunderland and Stoke especially aren't really the same. The point I was making is that in nearly 2 decades we have been knocked out of the FA Cup at home once. Boro are doing well in the Championship, we have played very poorly in a lot of games this season but people seem to be getting rather ahead of themselves.

Re: Boro FA cup
i don't see any way tactically wenger can win this - his plan a) is wide open all out attack. result = we get raped. his plan b) is sit back let them play in front of us. result = we get raped in the air and on set pieces.
and even if by some miracle he does get his tactics right, after 20 minutes Karanka will change it up. or at least at HT....
basically you have the most outdated and inflexible tactician in football versus one of its youngest, brightest stars.
if wonga was a horse they'd take him out to the woodshed. Karanka is going to do what Koeman and Garry monk did.

Fucking hell take a step back fella. I don't think anyone on this forum has suggested this game will be a canter but we're playing against a fucking Championship side. This is wilder than some of the stuff 1989 posts when he pops up on hereclockender1 wrote:i don't see any way tactically wenger can win this - his plan a) is wide open all out attack. result = we get raped. his plan b) is sit back let them play in front of us. result = we get raped in the air and on set pieces.

Effectively so we were tonight and look at the switch off attitude we portrayed. Do that again and a decent manager will sort us out.

Yeah which is a hell of a way away from us winning being seemingly impossible.A11M11 wrote:we're playing against a fucking Championship side.

We are home for this where we hardly ever lose to a pub team.
Scruffy 3-2 win.

Re: Boro FA cup
My guess: Ramsey out, Alexis benched as a precaution, Cazorla swapped for Welbeck, Gibbs swapped for Monreal:
---------------Ospina---------------
Bellerin-----Mertesacker--------Koscielny--------Gibbs
-----------------Coquelin-------------
Walcott------Rosicky----Ozil-------Welbeck--
-------------Giroud-------------
Subs: Szczesney, Monreal, Gabriel, Flamini, Cazorla, Alexis Sanchez, Akpom
