As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
What everyday need is there generally to drive through central London on weekdays, where can you park without getting clamped or paying a small fortune.
There is a need. My job involves transporting things here and there, often in central London. I have to pay extra £8 to do so.
I cannot always pass that charge onto a customer. I lose out, as do many other people in small businesses.
It has not removed congestion very much either, it is just a stealth tax.
The only thing I like about Ken is what he has done on the tubes. He is keen on new stations, lines etc which is a good thing.
Boris only got backing from BNP who said people should vote for him as second choice in order to keep Ken out. BNP would vote conservative tactically if they felt it would keep out a socialist.
If the election goes down to the second choice, assuming Johnson won slightly on the first vote, could Ken still win the election overall if he got the higher number of second votes?
IF NO-ONE GETS OVER 50% IN THE FIRST VOTE, THEN SECOND PREFERENCES ARE INCLUDED. WHOEVER THEN HAS OVER 50% OF THE VOTES, WINS - I THINK.
QUARTZ,
I'M NO DEFENDER OF THEM BUT PERHAPS THE BNP WERE SUGGESTING SECOND PLACE VOTES GO TO BORIS JOHNSON BECAUSE HE WOULD BE THE ONLY REALISTIC CANDIDATE TO BEAT LIVINGSTONE - THEREFORE ENSUING THAT RED KEN GOT VOTED OUT.
I HARDLY THINK BECAUSE THEY'VE DONE THAT, IT IS AN INDICATION THAT BORIS JOHNSON IS A RACIST.
have to agree with martin on this one, ive read too much stuff on boris that indicates hes racist, i just think hes gonna make issues worse too. gutted ken isnt gonna win this one.
SORRY MATEY. JUST REALISED THAT YOU WERE INITIALLY RESPONDING TO KHALID'S QUESTION AND NOT PUTTING IT FORWARD AS AN ARGUMENT TO SHOW BORIS JOHNSON IS A RACIST.
I AGREE THAT BORIS JOHNSON COMES OVER AS A BUFFOON BUT IT SHOWS THE POVERTY OF THE CANDIDATES LONDONERS HAD TO CHOOSE FROM THAT HE STILL MANAGED TO WIN. FOR PEOPLE UNIMPRESSED BY THE JOB LIVINGSTONE HAS DONE, IT WAS A CASE OF DESPARATE TIMES CALL FOR DESPARATE MEASURES.
THAT'S WHY I DIDN'T VOTE IN AN ELECTION FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I FIRST COULD IN 1979. I DECIDED THAT I WASN'T GOING TO GIVE MY VOTE TO ANY OF THE, WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE, SUB-STANDARD CANDIDATES.
