This is one of the most offensive things I have seen in a long time.
Reflects disgustingly on British football fans.

Roman should pull his money out and send them back where they belong.
This is a huge point for me too - when your club captain gets done for racism and then some of your fellow fans show a strong racism element, then you would have to question why any self respecting non white person could still support them

As an Asian Gooner, i'd just like to say this thread just backs up everything that is good about our club.
Growing up in North London during the 70/80s I remember the skinheads, the National Front and how football was always seen as a place you would never go as someone who came from an ethnic background.
That was with the exception of Arsenal. I am not saying that our club has never had any problems historically but on the pitch we embraced the first generation of black players and as a young teenage gooner it just felt like the right place for me. Local club, mates all Gooners and something I could identify with. Fast forward to today, and we have probably the most multi cultural fanbase in the country. That's something that makes me proud and I am 99.9999999% sure that what happened in Paris the other night would never happen with Arsenal fans abroad.
Chelsea have attracted a lot of plastic support over the last 10 years, that don't understand or choose to ignore the clubs history and its right wing fans, the old headhunters that probably despise the ethnic elements of their support but keep quiet about it today. There is no doubt the fans caught on camera pushing what seemed like a well dressed professional off a train will now be punished, you are literally only a smart phone away from getting done these days.

Re: Classless Chavs
Hard to believe in this day and age where nearly every aspect of daily life, culture and society are multi-cultural, we still get moronic low-brow scum like those chav twats. But I suppose whilst there is ignorance and stupidity in the world, there will always be racism.
Someone above said it reflects badly on British football fans. I don't think it does as much now as it would have 10 or 20 years ago. I think the general perception of British fans abroad has improved alot since the majority of the sad pathetic hooligan element have been stopped from travelling as regularly as they used to. I have found that foreign fans in Europe (and hopefully their media) tend to judge fans at a club level now. In Paris in 06, every Barca fan I met seemed to like The Arsenal and hate the chav$. I think these dirty vermin will be judged and criticised as chav fans rather than British fans. Hopefully anyway.
Regarding the scum/chav thing. I too really struggle to understand how any Gooner could cheer on the scum against any other team. The scum are our historcal rival/enemy on a tribal level. My old man instilled in me a lovely hatred for the scum. I'm instilling it in my son. I'm not condemning anyone for it, I just don't get it. Sure, I always want the chav$ to lose, but not against the scum. It's like choosing to be infected with syphilis (the chav$) or AIDS (the scum). Lesser of two evils by a long way is the chav$.

Re: Classless Chavs
One of my mates is mixed race (Oirish mom, Goan Dad). Doesn't support any particular club, just loves football. He's been to grounds all over the UK and Europe to watch matches. He's heard racist abuse (and been racially abused) at (as best I can recall) Manure, Inter, Leeds, the chav$, the scum, Juve and the Mousers.nut flush gooner wrote:As an Asian Gooner, i'd just like to say this thread just backs up everything that is good about our club.

I'm always quietly proud to hear him big up The Arsenal as a ground he feels safe and welcome in because of a healthy racial and cultural mix. I'm sure we do have a few scumbag racist arseholes in our fanbase (we banned one ourselves on here) but I would say they are a tiny minority.

Re: Classless Chavs
Watching that footage again last night makes that chav fan that "explained" it even a worse
than those
that carried it out. That was one minute in time, it is safe to assume that the group behave in such a despicable intimidating manner at all times .
On Tuesday in the lovely confines of my part time job a Chelsea fan asked me "is there football on tonight ?" to which I replied that Chelsea were playing in Champions league..he then asked "who are we playing?"
Yesterday he hadn't heard about the train incident but when told about it went into convulsions of mad (only word to describe it) laughter. repeated the words "racist and we like it " a few times and more insane laughter. So even their plastics are moronic.
On the League Cup Final..I hope Chelsea win it only because it would be unbearable to see Spurs win anything with the wankfest over Harry Kane that would accompany it.

Anyone over the age of 35 will remember Chelsea with a large right wing fan base, and the old school supporters are still proud of it. Not surprised about the Paris incident, after JT incident and the Anton chants it was only a matter of time.
Always been a scummy base level club always will be...

Re: Classless Chavs
I remember the 80's and how the NF and other scum were well represented at the chavscum ground -Also how they tried to infiltrate Highbury - and were shown the error of their ways. I recall how my older brother (RIP) came home from a game (against the chavs) his face messed up - he got a kicking from some chavscum nazi fans after the game as he got off the tube in his red & white - it transpires they followed him and his mate 10 onto 2 there's brave.
He was a man of peace but stood up against the NF etc as we all did and should.
Chelsea is well known for being a haven for people who are racist/facist - even from the 1970 (and I'm sure before) when it was more open, all clubs know it is bad for their image and so business - something which has gradually replaced the 'working class' label of football as a sport - when clubs were very much part of the community. Chelsea's history speaks for itself and even now in a so called more enlightened era, they still have a captain like john terry - he and they fit the bill perfectly, sadly the club knows it exists but seem to do very little to try and obliterate it - and theose that bring it into the club.
Racism is present in/at every club at all levels - You only have to go to the local parks on a saturday afternoon or sunday morning and it is very openly voiced - on and off the pitch. To the point where people actually stop playing/going....and that is Sad.
But unless a 100% No Tolorence Level is adopted - it will continue as will incidents of this kind in Paris, I just hope they can trace the guilty and punish them severely.

I heard some bloke on the news spin it by stating that the "we're racist....and that's the way we like it" was a reference to John Terry.
The mind boggles.
A club of, and for, dickheads.

I "HATE" the fact that the chavscum captain has been given the monniker "JT" - Like some badge of honour, the way the media and pundits fall over themselves to be all chummy with that wink wink nudge nudge type of abbreviating to J feckin T..
Can we on here (in future) refer to him as Captain Cun.t or Head Pikey or something?

Re: Classless Chavs
Chelsea, Leeds, millwall etc all have violent firms that are far right wing - and there's nothing ordinary fans can do about it.
I have plenty of Chelsea mates - firm and non firm, that are NOT racist, and I used to go to Chelsea with them and they used to come to Arsenal with us at home, Cardiff and in Europe. Were they to physically stand up to the racists they wouldn't last long.
We are lucky - like Brum, Forest etc that we are in the majority at our club and it's the fascists who have to keep their views to themselves - but like any part of society they are here too. I've met Arsenal fans away with England, that are English but are part of the Ulster Loyalist / Scottish movement and are VERY seriously anti-Fenian.
Now given our long and very proud Irish history, I find that shocking and have never heard those sentiments expressed in our crowd - but there is/ was a fair group of them who used to sit together in the West Lower, and they often had guests from Millwall with them.
So sadly, we have the racists and idiots too. Be thankful we don't have to listen to that crap every week like Chelsea fans do.

Re: Classless Chavs
The undercurrent has always been there with Chelsea fans. I can remember them booing their own black players in the 80s and a whole load of them in the West Stand giving Paul Davis some fearful stick back in the day too. Bunch of Neanderthal *word censored*
