Monaco at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

We'll fuck 'em 3-0 8)

Then we'll lose 0-2 away and they'll hit the post twice late on, and we'll hang on desperately for the result... Wenger will talk about red zone, little beet jaded, mental strength, etc... then sit there looking frustrated but doing fuck all as the Whores beat us comfortably home and away in the next round.... groundhog season yet again, my friends... :|

One thing about Arsenal nowadays is that we dun need a crystal ball to predict how our season is going to unfold. We just know how we will end up in the PL & CL.

they beat us 1-0 in the Emirates Cup and I don't expect anything different on Wednesday evening.

if we lucky we might get a scrappy 1-1 draw.

this is the last 16 - we don't win these games because we don't need to. it is all about qualifying for this round not any further.
this is the time of the season when Wenger prioritises qualifying for the CL next season and why he played his strongest team v Palace.

Alexis and Ozil - Will be well up for this - and so Alexis will score at least 2 goals - if slo mo Giroud can wake up in time - he may score - Ozil will work some of his Utter Class Magic.... a sweet touch to set up Alexis.

Arsenal 3 - Monaco Nil.

If we get knocked out in the last 16 this time then there is no fucking hope: close the club shop, lock the doors.

We can't be so shit that Monaco do us, can we?

I hope we adopt the same professional attitude that we showed against Middlesbrough, as if the team have listened to 90% of our fans they'd be forgiven for expecting they could just show up and roll them over. I understand the collective sigh of relief that we didn't draw one of the top European sides but this still takes some winning.

I have virtually zero interest in French football (other than to look at who we might be signing next from St Etienne or Lorient :D ) but just had a look through their last few games since the turn of the year - they barely ever concede ! Flip side of that is that they don't score many either.....can see it being a tight one

I am taking my Nephew to this one,(his first time at the bowl). I know that the AKB's and the I-Pad/phone wielding fans will cause embarrassment, I just hope that the team doesn't!!!

Totally agree with you (and DB10) here buddy - we will fcuk them up sooooo badly in this game, that they wont even want to play the return leg 8) Those of you expressing concerns must forget that we are the original flat track bullies, and flat track bullies steamroller average teams like Monaco and this will be an easy 3-0 or 4-1 home victory

Better not throw out the lubricating gel though.......in a few weeks time one of europe's genuine big clubs will anally explore this team and it wont be pretty

They barely concede in France but in a fucking site league they've managed 26 goals in 25 games. They are unlikely to pose much of a threat on the counter if berbatov plays.

At home in Europe we tend to play with a great deal of confidence and pace - unless we're playing a top team that is. There will actually be an atmosphere at this game too. To my mind the last really winnable CL knockout tie we had was Porto 5 years ago.

We won't get frustrated and sloppy if we haven't scored after 25 minutes like we tend to domestically. I think we will get an early goal and if that happens we will cruise it.

Confident about that one, we have a chance of going through for once!
You never know what can happen next.
On a sidenote, how many tickets have Monaco got? Few hundreds?

We'll win but I have no doubt berbatov will score. Just hope we don't stop at 2 and hold out. I'd like to see Theo start. Have we got anyone banned for this game?

Yes, Wenker has a Touch Line Ban for being totally inept when it comes to tactics, making substitutions ( that can be telegraphed 3 seasons in advance) and for not being able to comprehend and caommand the simplicity of a a fuckking ZIP!
