Re: Monaco at home
I said Barca would bumhole them. Dreadfully unfashionable to say anything remotely positive about Barca but they are still miles better than anything in the premier league and city are horrifically disorganised and managed by an awful tactician.mcdowell42 wrote:City 0-2 barca Suarez both goals lol.30 mins gone

Clichy walks, second yellow.
Re: Monaco at home
Agreed - only Maureen with his 'oh the irony is lost on me' park the bus tactics will have any joy from these shores when up against Barca, Bayern or Real. First half it was like watching Barca playing a pre-season exhibition game against a bunch of part timersnorthbank123 wrote:I said Barca would bumhole them. Anyone see the post-match interview with joe hart on sky ? All that dodgy shampoo has obviously affected his brain cos the stupid b.astard could hardly talk properly
I found it especially amusing when he spoke about the huge belief citeeh second half "fightback" (their words not mine) has given them for the return leg in spain
I shouldn't be taking the piss out of citeeh cos I hope that they do knock barca out

Re: Monaco at home
joe hart obviously doesn't understand the away goals rule....
lets face it, the likes of real, athletico, bayern and barca are miles ahead of the rest.
get one of those four sides and anyone else is in for a bumholing. i would not be surprised to see city come out 5-1 losers on aggregate.
if chelsea do any good against them, its going to be down to a George Graham type 1-0 win over two legs. at that level its all about negating the other team as much as possible and being clinical with what chances you get.

Has kept his nose (and hair) clean off the pitch but in footballing terms he is just the epitome of the modern day British footballer.augie wrote:Anyone see the post-match interview with joe hart on sky ? Two great seasons as a youngster and he's still living off those. He can no longer be regarded as a very good keeper who makes mistakes, he is just a poor keeper at the top level. Consistently gives away goals for fun - great keepers may cost their side 2 or 3 goals a season but this guy gets through that in a month. To top it off he comes across as a cocky prick, he completely lacks focus and is further away from fulfilling his 'potential' then he was 5 years ago.
And worst of all he is considered undroppable for one of the country's best sides and the national team.

Re: Other CL games
City hadn't a clue how to handle Barca last night..Didn't press on the Barca players in midfield as they were possibly afraid of leaving space behind, but that invited Barca to run at them at that produced the results regardless. I imagine some older wiser City fans were hoping Messi would score that penalty , just to put the tie out of its misery and kill any false hopes.

Re: Other CL games
Every year a friend tells me there is no reason why arsenal cannot win this competition. I can think of many and watching a Barcelona side supposedly of a lower standard than four years ago is another one. We are nowhere near...

Re: Other CL games
Had posted this on the other games thread. But seeing as thread-whore McD
has gone to the trouble of opening a new thread;
The gulf in class between the whores and the Arab pimp's plaything was immense. But at a very basic level WTF was Pellegrini doing playing 4-4-2? I'm a fan of an adaptable 4-4-2 that can switch temporarily to 4-5-1 when needed but a flat out 4-4-2 against the whores? Madness. Seems good old Arsene isn't the only one that doesn't do tactics.
And why was lesbian features Nasri even on the pitch? Provided absolutely no cover. Nice little huffy strut down the tunnel when he was subbed though which made me smile
. As for Fernando? Bang average at the best of times but totally out of his depth last night. Milner too, lots of effort but no quality.
Messi for me will always be far superior to the diving show pony Fake-Ronaldo. No pointless step-overs, no drama, no bullshit, just pure skill, talent, vision, technique, genius. If he flicks a ball it is invariably the best option, not just for show. Gets clattered every single game. Gets on with it. No diving. No feigning injury.
