Monaco at home

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

we lose possession and concede....

this is not shocking to those who remember soton, stoke, swansea, united and the spuds. :banghead:

i still think we are good for a goal but we are up against it now,

George Graham would appreciate monaco's tactics, if not the result.

Its been a long time since we showed an opponent such a complete lack of respect, both on and off the field, and we are getting everything we deserve. Whoever thought we'd simply turn up, tip tap it about and knock these over by 3 or 4 needs to have their fucking head examined

Do you reckon the Nutty Professor spent hours pouring over the DVD of our defeat to them in the Emirates Cup? Did he fuck

Absolutely pathetic.

We may still get past this tie in the end, but we'll get skull fucked against any of the other teams likely to get through.

Off the field yes. On the field no - we have shown them miles too much respect. We are absolutely terrified of conceding. They are obviously obdurate in defence but why are we so fucking negative against a side who pose no counter-attacking threat and are so defensively-focused?

If we played this lot in the group stages we would run out comfortable winners.

Why would he need to when according to 99% of Gooners we're apparently playing the Accrington Stanley of France and only needed to sit back and watch us splatter them by a cricket score

No way should ozil be coming back onto the pitch for 2nd half.We have no urgency, play is slow too much sidewards and backward passing, any time Gibbs gets the ball his first thought is to pass it backwards.

Don't agree mate - Ozil and Welbeck are treating this lot like they are some sort of shit - invisible men that they can just pass through or walk through.

By the way - welcome back to the Chumpions League. The most boring match we've had since.....oh yeah, the last one we had in this competition

Agreed. A non arsenal supporting buddy of mine who likes a flutter text me today asking if I thought Arsenal -2 was worth a few of his quid going on it. After picking myself up off the floor after the best laugh I had in ages, I text him back and questioned his fucking sanity. He owes me a pint next time he sees me.

Why people think this shower of shit will steamroll ANYBODY is beyond me, yet alone a team from the knockout stages of the CL. All I can say is thank Christ we didn't draw either of the Madrid's, Barca or Real or we'd be getting a right probing tonight. Out with a wimper against Monaco and save us all a massive fucking embarrassment :banghead:
