What I took from the game is that Giroud is not bad.
He can be quite sharp, opportunistic and has turned into a bit of a poacher.

But he will have a game now and again where he is really poor.

giroud is good enough to be on a title contending team, but not good enough to be their number 1 striker.

Totally agree - they all played their best game for a while. Looked like the football we expect for 35 min in the second half, then a nervy 14 min. 3 point in the bag. Now off to OT we go. :barscarf: :barscarf:

important win with everyone in the hunting pack winning too, once we came into it we were taking the piss, just a shame we have to make it such hard work for ourselves all the time by conceding when we are home and dry, gibbs and kos need shooting for letting austen have a sight on goal and getting his effort away, otherwise a good nights work :barscarf:

Was watching it too and wondered how it went past him, don't know if it moved in the air or he was just slow getting down to it strange one :?

For the first 35 mins I was thinking that this had been the worst £55 I'd ever spent. So pedestrian no pace no ideas.
Something was said at HT and we came out a different side. There was a spell of 20 mins where we could have been 4 up with some great attacking play with pace. As always it just makes you wonder why that desire wasn't there earlier and Austin's shot in the first half was 2 inches away and we're chasing the game.
He got his tap in but Giroud wasn't great last night. Oil showed some good touches and looked interested and obviously Alexis came alive after HT. As we started to tire we needed an outlet and he should have replaced Giroud with Walcott and like Palace we nearly shot ourselves in the foot. Austin had already had 2 sighters so let's give him a third :banghead: After seeing it on MOTD Ospina did seem to go down late so not sure about that.
Really good to see that at last the Alexis baby song really took off last night. 9000 singing it at OT on Monday when we're 3 up will be magnificent!!

Beginning to worry that he could be the "new Almunia" and we will all be calling for Scez to be back in goal, but Wenker will persist with Ospinal for 4 years
