1983 at villa park :banghead:

2003 in the 4th round was a fantastic battle, summed up how far superior we were on a technical level with the mancs back then. Only reason they won the league that year was they had ferguson and we had wenger. I think even our own players admitted wenger was too laid back that season.

Brilliant childhood memories of the '79 cup final - first time I'd seen the Arse win anything and watched it with my old granddad who started the whole Arsenal thing in our family, god rest his soul

Happy memories of '03 as Henry mentioned but the best of the lot was being in the North Bank when Brian McClair's penalty came whistling past my head.....and set up some needle between him and Winterburn that continued for a good while after that game

Those memories were tainted by the pathetic 4-0 surrender up there a few seasons back when our wonderful captain Gallas and co threw in the towel and wasted 9000 people's hard earned cash. Still we all know, he's always taken the cup seriously and as a consequence blown the Chumpions League

Oh, 2003 up there. Every now and again, I find myself thinking back to that Giggs miss and laughing to myself. I remember getting the train up in the morning and it being the usual mix of hungover/ still-pissed Arsenal fans and a few Cockney Mancs and getting turfed off the train at Crewe two hours before the game for some reason. We were stuck there for an hour whilst other London trains came in and deposited their passengers on the platform until the station was jammed and whatever daft idea the Old Bill had come up with had failed and something nasty was going to happen with the overcrowding. Eventually one train pulled up and all the platform, which by now was about three trains worth of passengers piled on. The crush on the train was terrible with about three to a seat and the doorways like Sardines. One poor woman who was nothing to do with the football had a panic attack and tried to get off and the police tried to herd her back on until one Gooner told them that: "This poor Dear's having an attack and you're letting her off and finding her a seat, you *word censored*. " PC Plod then tried to get on to help her but couldn't get through and the woman had to be helped off by various Arsenal fans.
When the train got going, it limped towards Manchester, stopped about ten times and broke down at Alderley Edge where another bloke and I got off and found a taxi that would go our way. As luck would have it, he was a City fan who sped us there in no time and wished us luck. The other guy and I made it in just as the game was starting. What followed was us being so superior with a virtual reserve team and them being dirty, fouling *word censored*. I still have this memory of Van Horse *word censored* hitting Freddie off the ball and being seen by the ref who chose to ignore it. The miss by Hairy *word censored* was great and the roar from out end was like a goal had gone in for us.
The second half was piss-easy, they were a mess and Fergescum kicked a boot at Beckham that day too. For good measure, I got rolling drunk on the way home.

Awful day, got in serious trouble for telling my boss I needed a Saturday off for important family reasons. He knew, because someone else delighted in telling him why I wanted that day off. Suffered on the Monday.

Played badly but lead 1-0 at half-time thanks to Woodcock, Petrovic was one piece of quality we had at the time. United with a bit of help from our defence over powered us in the second half. It was sickening to watch especially as they beat us in the League Cup semi that season. In the first leg at Highbury they lead 4-0 at one stage.

1979 was my first trophy win as an Arsenal fan, the elation relief and emotion at the end still lives in me. '99 one penalty kick or one tackle away from denying them history. Still haunts me , my Mrs was jumping about celebrating when we won that penalty. I was shouting "he hasn't scored it yet"... Fuck even thinking about it :banghead: :banghead: ... wasn't just the fact we failed to return to Wembley, not even the fact that scoring that penalty could have won us consecutive doubles. No what made it worse is that it was possibly the point when that filth knew they could win that treble. The mouthing from their plastic c***s in Dublin, the adulation in the media, the Giggs goal..None of it would have happened.
