He is saying we can now compete after a 'sensitive' financial period.
So we're going to be seeing the world class keeper, defensive midfielder and striker coming in this summer then for sure

Typical of manure - they always wheel out ex-players to criticise and attack the opposition in any way shape or form when they know they are going to be up against it - rednose used to be in charge of the mind games remember - it is a tactic they have used for over 20 years....rodders999 wrote:Paul Scholes who for 20 years never spoke a word suddenly can't shut the fuck up. scholes the dirty cuntt of a one eyebrowed xxxxx is trying to big up manirescum by thinking he can 'ave a go' at one of the players who can so easily o them a lot of damage...I fancy Ozil to score and ram the words back down his cock sucking throat.

We are THE Arsenal - so fuck off scholes you classless inbred ginger day walker nonce

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
That is because he only started "underachieving" after the stadium move. As you said he achieved great things before he was limited financially by it. We have a manager achieving great thing before the move, and the same manager "underachieving" after the move. So some of us can put 2 and 2 together and see that moving to the Emirates must have had something (probably quite a lot) to do with our lack of trophies ever since.Theoperator wrote: Many (AKBs) just cant accept that a manager who achieved great things is actually, looking carefully, a jammy bugger who should have seized the chance to go in glory
Re: THE WENGER THREAD
Yeah, the stadium move really prevented Wonga from using any tactics.......from changing something....anything mid game when we are being walked over....it must have caused him to keep wastes of space like Diaby and to give them improved contracts......and damn that stadium move for making him lie compulsively and to embarrass himself and every Arsenal fan with his many fuckwit remarks in the press........and lets not forget the stadium makes him wait until the 70th minute to make a substitution.....yup, damn that stadium move.So some of us can put 2 and 2 together and see that moving to the Emirates must have had something (probably quite a lot) to do with our lack of trophies ever since.

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
So what do you think happened to him? Are these the same tactics that keep us within touching distance of the big spenders (city, chavs)? I said on here before that wengers biggest flaw is that he is too trusting of his players. That is why he waits a bit later in the game to bring on a sub. To give the players on the pitch every chance. Also why he gave players like diaby a chance, and kept faith in Chesney for so long. I know it's frustrating, but his trusting personality doesnt take anything away from his footballing knowledge. He just needs to get the type of top class player that he CAN trust. The type we currently don't have the funds for. And as an Arsenal fan, I can assure you I've NEVER felt insulted or embarrassed by wenger. He is one of the classiest manager around.TeeCee wrote:Yeah, the stadium move really prevented Wonga from using any tactics.......from changing something....anything mid game when we are being walked over....it must have caused him to keep wastes of space like Diaby and to give them improved contracts......and damn that stadium move for making him lie compulsively and to embarrass himself and every Arsenal fan with his many fuckwit remarks in the press........and lets not forget the stadium makes him wait until the 70th minute to make a substitution.....yup, damn that stadium move.So some of us can put 2 and 2 together and see that moving to the Emirates must have had something (probably quite a lot) to do with our lack of trophies ever since.

Cloaked I showed you the money argument is bollocks. Why are you still using it?

Re: THE WENGER THREAD
It can't be completely nonsense. As I said, how can he go from being great before we move, to being "mediocre" after the move? Yes the club have money, but maybe it's not available for him to just spend it? And what would he have to gain by not using it, and leaving it in the clubs account?Chippy wrote:Cloaked I showed you the money argument is bollocks. Why are you still using it?

A classic article just published by Ollie Holt. Be careful what you wish for lads, apparently we're taking "great strides forward" under Wenger at the moment...

I would like to know how old you are and when you started supporting Arsenal, as it seems you are coming at things from a substantially different angle from most of us on this Forum?
This is why Wenger declined - read on -
A - We had less cash 2005 - 2008 in particular, but we launched a decent league title challenge 2007 - 2008.
But yes, it had some effect as we had to tighten the belt these years.
B - We continued to be prudent 2008 - 2013, but we still could splash out on Arshavin, and Giroud and Cazrola were not cheap. We payed big money in wages too.
So how could Wenger go from being 'Great" to not being Great".
1.) He benefitted 1998 - 2003 from the inherited Graham defence. The Invincibles defence was built by Wenger, but they benefitted from training with the older defenders and getting their passed on knowledge.
After that defending got a lot worse.
2.) David Dein left April 2007. We lost a clever transfer negotiator, a man who could work a room, spot a player and be a sounding board for Wenger and above all that have the gravitas to tell Wenger when he was making a mistake.
And above all else, a man who put the football team before the football club. We did bring in Gazidis, but it was 18 months later, and Wenger is no way as close to Gazidis as he was to Dein.
3.) Our training ground was the world's best in 1999, but others have surpassed it since. It is now though getting an upgrade.
4.) Wenger's philosophy changed form power players to nimble technical ones from 2008 onwards. This philosophy was great in theory for Barcelona, not great in practice for the rough and tumble of the Premier League.
5.) We lacked leaders on the pitch too. Adams was captain for years, a one club man, a contender to be "Mr Arsenal" and an authority on and off the pitch. Vieira took over, also a natural leader.
After that it got silly, captains coming and going, changing frequently, getting sold to rivals.
There you go Cloaked, some reasons why Wenger has declined.

I am 22, and always supported Arsenal same as my dad. I know my views are in the minority here, being surrounded by so many hardline WOBs (no offence intendedQuartzGooner wrote: Cloaked
