Have to say that this drives me absolutely barmy - we know that he is tactically stupid and we know that he is incapable of motivating his players, but surely even he can see how ridiculously stupid he looks with his constant 70th minute substitution policy ??
There's a podcast with Alex Fynn, a close friend of Wenger's (but who also believes many of his methods are flawed), where he discusses this. Apparently he makes subs at 70 mins because this is when players become physically tired and become less influential on a game.
Fuck the fact that the game may be getting away from us well before the 70 minute mark, Wenger rarely makes subs before then because players apparently aren't sufficiently tired enough
