As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Rambo (who was dire all game), Coq, Santi, Chambers, Alexis, Giroud all guilty.
Also, our short passing was so slow and often too short to reach the intended recipient.
It feels like a loss.
Does it? really?
Each to their own Granada, but I for one am a lot happier and relaxed this evening having won the game. I'm certain I'd feel worse if Newcastle had turned it around and won 3-2.
Result over performance all day long. Always will be.

But haven't you heard? The only reason you criticise him is cos he "isn't Messi or Henry"
At this rate, he isn't even Emile bloody Heskey. He's shockingly piss-poor. You wanna win titles with him as your starter then you're having a laugh...

I'd feel worse if we'd lost as well, but we were two-nil up against a shit team, missing their best players, without a permanent manager, and with little to play for, yet we lost the second half and were desperately clinging on. I'm glad we won but I'm not happy with the performance and I'm certainly not relaxed. Victims next. Enjoy your relaxation. It won't last for long if we continue playing like that.

Liverpool is 2 weeks away. There's plenty of time to think about that game.
For now, I think it's quite reasonable to be relieved that we won. Every game is different, so we take the 3 points and continue on. There's only 8 games left, so every win (regardless of performance) is vital.

Interesting comment. May I please ask what every win is "vital" for please? You wouldn't mean the be-all-and-end-all Top 4 trophy per chance would you? If so, and in light of 17 years of pitiful failure in CL, can I please ask why it's "vital" we qualify for the CL again? Is it to "attract the best players in the world"?
Every point is vital now so we can finish top four, attract the worlds top players, compete with europes elite and do the same thing again next year. The race for top four is vital to keep sky tv's viewing figures up too. Not to be sniffed
at eh?

I know, I know
Vital for what we're trying to achieve between now and May. No one is pretending this isn't another maddening groundhog season, but in the context of what we're realistically going to do this season (finish between 2nd and 6th) I'd say every 3 points helps us get closer to that goal.
But yes, your probably right - in the grand scheme of things, it probably doesn't matter that much.
Fucking robbing Toon bastards! I thought my Giroud/2-0 bet would be wrecked by us going onto score 5 or 6 after the way the Toon played in the first half!
Anyway we made hard work of that. What the fuck did Wenger say to our lot at half time? "Go out there and be shit"?
Ramsey was utter rubbish today. Made the wrong choice with nearly every pass and touch. Chose the flash difficult option every time. He really has a Messi complex burning away there. His ego is now so out of control he assumes every ball played within 15 yards of him is for him and just lumps himself in the way. He now has no spacial awareness beyond himself.
Welbeck was very poor, Santi blew hot and cold, and fucking Captain Stupid just looked out of his depth when he came on. Against a patched together Toon side FFS!! And I think Arsene has just about achieved his obvious goal of running Sanchez into the ground. Well done Lord Venger, well done.
It's a win but to what end? This team will not get ahead of the chav$.
Just pleased we won after tumbling out of Europe. This is normally a game we'd throw away. Don't give a rats arse how we achieved 3 pts, just that we did. We are only 4 points off the top. As long as we can keep getting 3 points we are in with a chance. Who'd have thought that after spuds loss.
A win is a win as they say, but fuck me that second half was absolute torture and reminded me of the home game against Leicester a few weeks back. I'm not sure if its the same arrogance that gets the better of us on certain occasions when we think its too easy, or the effects of midweek, but either way it was an alarming drop off in the second half
It was great to see some old school defending from Gabriel, who I thought was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole 90 mins, ably supported by Kos. What on earth is the old fart doing leaving Bellerin on the bench until the fucking final knockings when Chambers was getting skinned time after time again at right back? With only the PL and a potential maximum 2 cup games to play, is it asking too much for Bellerin to hold down that place for the rest of the season.
Fuck his age, fuck his development, at the moment Chambers is a walking disaster and shouldn't be within a million miles of first-team football. Got skinned every time and just looks well out of his depth.
Welbeck is also so wasteful it beggars belief. Granted there were times he was getting the ball and he was isolated on the wing but he gave the ball away time and time again throughout the game. His touch is just appalling for somebody at this level.
Thought he got things wrong with the subs as well. Rosicky was the right choice but why bring him on to play out wide? Fair play Giroud had a good game and held the ball up really well, thought CBs did well too.

Agreed - why people thought we could suddenly transform Welwide from a second rate strike with loads of pace but an appalling first touch and lack of killer instinct is beyond me. I can't see him ever being more than a 10-15 goal per season man (all competitions). Time and time again he got into decent positions yesterday only to find his touch let him down at the key moment
