Played very well in the 2007 League Cup Final, and I am not just talking about kicking John Terry in the face!
But after that he regressed.

On that game alone one might think he would go on to be a very important player for us, but injuries aside, he too often lacked a final ball and his runs ended up in cul-de-sacs or with wasteful final passes.

Credit to him for battling against 40 injuries, no fault of his own.

No idea if he will stay in the game but he has a qualification in accountancy so maybe he will take over from Gazidis one day?

I think it's more likely that he will take over from Wenger and the money will keep rolling in and trophies will keep disappearing.

Thoughts are with Stevo at this time.

Say it ain't so, Joe!!  There is just no justice in this world!! How many shite footballers are there stealing a living every week while someone genuinely talented isn't allowed to display his skills? :( :banghead: Lads, let's try and keep this news away from my fellow Diabyite Steve O. Poor fella is going to be shattered at the news. I know I am.
Can't believe the ill feeling on here towards the bloke - his crime? To have suffered a series of terrible injuries. Read Vieira's comments - he even thought he would go on to be a better player than him

One of the most naturally gifted players to ever wear the shirt and I hope the testimonial is announced shortly so we can all turn out in numbers and show Abou the love !
A sponger who has been stealing a weekly wage from the club for countless years, his headed own goal at OT sums up this useless injury prone piece of shite.

For whatever reason he can't get himself fit and he cannot play enough matches to justify either a squad berth or his wages.

It's sad in a way but he either needs to find another club or retire.

I will be glad to see the back of him, put his wages to good use and buy a player that can actually play for the club FFS, enough.

I feel sorry for him was a decent player but never super quality. So many injuries!!! Why did Wenger offer him another contract when the likes of Eduardo was given no long term chance to get over his horrific injury???

oh well Wenger knows :banghead:

What crap. One own goal sums him up more than all the ones he scored at the right end or created then? How do you work that out?

And by sponger I presume you're accusing him of feigning injury like some form of benefits cheat?

I'm convinced the bloke would have been a brilliant player for us and in numerous games you've chosen to forget about he showed how good he could be

Personally I'd have though he would go into stadium building, as he appears to have some previous experience

(nb proof it wasn't Wenker that built it by hand too)

Really feel sorry for him in respect of the continuous injuries.

You become a footballer because you love playing the game. To not be able to do so because of countless injuries must be very disappointing.

Don't feel sorry for him financially though. He's still made a packet of wedge over the years. We should not have renewed his contract. In any other job he would have been subject to an occupational health assessment, declared to be not fit enough to work, and released.

Whatever he does after he is released I wish him the best of luck and if it is a desk job I hope he doesn't get an RSI!

Sad but he shoudn't of ever been given another contract. Only a play as you play per game deal!

A clud like AFC shouldn't have players like him our on books for so long, with his injury record.
