RIP Thread

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

All the French athletes and others in the Argentine helicopter crash.

Looks like Wiltord dodged a bullet.
The other stars participating in the show were swimmer Alain Bernard, cyclist Jeannie Longo, footballer Sylvain Wiltord, snowboarder Anne-Flore Marxer and figure skater Philippe Candeloro.

None of them were among the victims.

My missus loves his work, but for some reason I've yet to read anything by him. :?

I think I'll give it a whirl after I'm done with my current read.

I've only read a couple of his books but those I did I enjoyed - I would suggest starting with his first "Colour of Magic" and go from there...

I always wonder when these paedo/criminal/scumbag types live to a ripe age - using up precious oxygen - and good/decent/creative/honest types often die relatively young.

:?

RIP the 149 plane passengers and crew bar one.

Hard to credit whats emerging about the crash. Terrible terrible for all the families, including the apparrent perpetrators family- what must they all be going through. :( :(

To be so depressed as to end one’s own life is understandable and sad; taking 150 people with you is cowardly mass murder.

I'm fucking petrified of flying - I shat bricks on all 6 flights I've taken; and to know you're going to die as a plane descends must be the most horrifying 5 minutes imaginable.

Poor bastards.

My nephew hung himself in 2007, leaving behind an absolutely gorgeous wife and two beautiful daughters as well as a large extended family. A week ago a collegue hung herself bout a hundred yards from where we work. Leaving behind a boyfriend and family.
Sometimes I still get a pissed off at my nephew for what he did.

But neither one were cowardly murdering bastards like that arsehole co-pilot. No. Sympathy. Whatsoever.

Richie Benaud one of the great cricket/sport commentators of the 80s/90s. I loved his enthusiasm for the game and his total non biased commentaries. A typical example of this was his great descriptions of Botham ripping the Aussies to pieces in 1981.

Try gent. RIP.
